5 star because of the price.
This is some cosplay as an elf bulsh*t and I love it. Weird grip that feels better on the draw than in hand, a clean grind l, and even cleaner wrist-forearm action.
It’s a silly knife and shouldn’t be your first or fifth purchase. As my 3rd knife in the last few years it was a lot of fun.
it’s currently what I take to work and does the job admirably (herbs, packages, twine, and poking thing).
CJRB wasn’t on my radar before recently, now they are. It’s fun but functional.
It’s a mid length D2 flipper with a swooping design theme and jade G-10 scales over hidden liners, standoffs instead of a backspacer, and some nice design elements.
As a budget folder in a world where established budget brands are delivering real value in this price range, it’s a four star knife at least, but I hesitate to say five.
Some nice touches: it fits my grip acceptably well considering that’s a luck of the draw based on one’s individual hand size and shape. The fit is precise, it is well finished, nice blade treatment, some seriously smooth ceramic/nylon bearing works.

It takes dye reasonably well; these folks do use good G-10.
here’s the lockup:

so, good stuff on display. But their delivery hasn’t quite caught all the way up with their ambition. To be five stars the Agave needs jimping, wants a slightly fatter behind for easier grip, and both standoffs should be fully anchored into the frame. On the Agave, one standoff sits in a notch in the liners, which I’m not sure I like.
so, imperfect. But still good.
I prefer the Gobi but the Agave is alright by me.
Purchased this on a whim, very impressed. Blade has maintained its edge rather nicely and the size is perfect for my needs. Action is very smooth and consistently locks. Only complaint is that the clip seems to get caught on things and is a little weaker than other knives I've owned. As a consequence, I've had to bend it back several times.
The handle was too narrow for a solid hold. If trying to deploy relatively quickly from a pocket, not a sure grip coming out because of this, which slows things down. Has a choil, which I like. but no jimping on opposing spine of blade. Even worse, at the area where the jimping should be to allow full advantage of the choil (Filipino style grip), the blade spine slopes away, making that style grip slippery. Materials are nice, but need to go back to the drawing board to redesign. Drop will not allow returns if you don't like it, so find one to handle first to be sure. Looks good, but will not add it to my everyday carry rotation.
D2 steel is great, centering on the blase is great, factory edge is great, deep carry pocket clip is great, action is great, fit and finish is great.
I'll ding it for the scales feeling a bit slick, very minimal texture to on but just fine for a edc knife, the ergonomics on this knife aren't unpleasant or a deal breaker for me but it is a little awkward. For the price I feel these are dismissable because everything else about it is much better than any knife in this price range deserves to have. Great for under $40.
