I've been begging for a TwoSun drop for a long long time now. Not so much as a whiff of one ever, but I keep asking. I just picked up their first S110V knife and it's SO nice...

any one tried a CF scale CJRB? i realize its a laminate over G10 but does it look decent or cheap?
CdoyleTheir CF scales are pretty bomb, IMO. I have one CJRB, a Centros, with CF scales. The CF is deep enough that you can see the depth and shimmer of the weave through the resin quite easily. I'm not gonna go through the embarrassingly long list of expensive knives I own and use regularly, cuz I've also picked up plenty of inexpensive ones along the way....this thing's edge, outta the box, is still slicing paper with almost no resistance. Sharper out of the box than ANY of the several dozen S35VN folders I've purchased over the years - and hasn't picked up any chips or rolls like nearly every other S20/30/35 blade does, when it touches something hard. Granted, I haven't put it into my work pants yet (I work in the trades - all of my blades get used reasonably hard) cuz it's so good at effortlessly slicing open envelopes. It opens effortlessly and locks up solid. I like the clean lines and non-flipper, pocket friendly thumb studs. Deep carry clip, bearing pivot and D2 make this an exceptional value, IMO. Looks similar in manufacture to the Bestech knives Drop has also offered. Just noticed the D2 is developing a few rust spots, but there is a tidal estuary in my backyard, so plenty of corrosive salt air; all of my non stainless blades (1095CV, 1080, A2, O1) will also rust if left unattended. It's not a deal breaker, not in the least. I like D2 a lot - it's not any harder to sharpen than a powdered metallurgy blade and isn't brittle like a lot of my S-series blades are. Not gonna lie, it's nice to carry my ZT's, Spydercos, Brous Blades and Benchmades (and others) to work - but if I gotta tape a knife to my Grabbit pole to cut some tape 8' away above a ceiling, I'll use one of these: not only cheaper if I lose it, but consistently sharp. Which is something I can't say about S-series steels. These (and the Bestechs) have pretty astonishing build quality and materials (I'll take G10 over FRN any day of the week) for the $, tho I am just a little bummed I had to pay $3 extra to get CF on the Centros when I bought it a few months ago ;). Here's a comparison shot with a few other CF blades. The ZT0620CF is the most disappointing one in the photo - the CTS204P won't hold an edge for $#!+ and is starting to show a lot of little rust spots, as well as being dinged up from just one day at work. Also, I was digging out some foam insulation from a wall cavity a couple weeks ago and the lock failed - I'm lucky I didn't lose any fingers. It's at about 50% lockup, but if you just rap the spine on a table or desk, the blade ramps the lockbar open and folds. No more work carry for that one until I can figure out a remedy. On the other hand, the ZT0452CF is one of my faves - but the S35VN blade is in near constant need of maintenance.

I buy made in the USA a LOT - but it's a little sad when the quality control on a $38 knife made overseas is better than on a $250 offering made here in the States. Mis dos centavos, obv. YMMV - but I think these are a great value and excellent carry option for daily use that won't empty your wallet. I'll probably buy a couple other styles to try out; they're inexpensive enough to give as gifts if it turns out they're not to my liking.

ecolemanLooks like it might be something like an axis lock but one you don't have to pull on both sides of in order to get the smoothest action. If so, it could end up being pretty cool. The flip side of that is that you could get some unwanted play in the action depending on how and where that lockbar apparatus attaches to the frame vis a vis the pivot point. Gotta say I'm really interested in trying it out, one way or the other.

I actually spent $41 on this Drop and if you learn to read you'll notice my complaint was that you could buy the same knife for $29 elsewhere when Drop is supposed to be a discount site.
