Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Sculpted-profile The majority of custom keycap sets are sculpted-profile (Cherry, SA, MT3, KAT, etc. - more on profiles generally here) so let’s start there. Because each row has a unique keycap shape, alt layouts require a unique keycap for each legend that moves off its QWERTY row. Yeah, because they're two completely different items.
The Quickfire Rapid-i is the newer version of the Quickfire Rapid (fact). It is also much better looking (opinion, although extremely popular) and has more features (fact).
I highlighted facts and opinions because you can't tell them apart, in addition to your ignorance of the facts.
Also, in my /opinion/, backlighting is not as desired. Some others in the community feel the same way. The Rapid-i is a newer keyboard, but not necessarily better. I'd rather have this keyboard than a Quickfire-i because I'd rather not pay the premium for back lighting features. Also, if someone is buying a keyboard with Cherry MX Green switches, they're probably going to change out the keycaps, so aesthetics aren't really a concern.
//edited - spelling
If you really want want the Quickfire Rapid-i with green switches then buy it elsewhere. And if you really want it you'll pay more than what's being asked here for the model, which according to your statement, has less features.
What you want just isn't here, so look elsewhere.
Your attitude and need to assert yourself (your reply is just "if you don't like it gtfo") is also unreasonable and angry, and of course entirely pointless. Compare to sacratoy's reply (thanks again!).
Also, my statement wasn't written that way, but you're free to read it in whichever way you desire (complacent vs aggressive, or anything in between).
You'll have to try a lot harder if your attempt is to ruffle people's feathers here when they just state that what you're looking for isn't what's listed on the drop here. It's not working here.
All I said was that it's different, and unless you really want flashy lights, you're better off with the Rapid.
Plus, this one can easily be made to be fully programmable through the use of a Frosty Flake replacement controller.
