flumpisI haven't been able to flash mine. The software does not work on a Mac. Configuring on linux is hard. The author came up with a lot of excuses: the website does not work, I moved, I haven't had the time.
The keyboard comes pre-configured with numbers 1-6. It stopped working after a few days.
Don't waste your money. This keyboard does not work.
Hey guys!
I am excited that this project has become a drop on MD. If you have any question about this product, don't hesitate to ask here in the comments and tag me, @pawnerd , to get an answer ASAP. I would love to tell about this little keyboard, my latest creation.
Pawnerd@Pawnerd i have tried 2 different cables and i am unable to upload my keybinds any help? also i am having difficulty removing the keycaps is it built to not have the keycaps removed?
Bobbyman5506Keycaps should be removed using a keypuller. These were manually placed on the keycap. Since new keycaps have a tight fit, it could become easier to remove them over time.
The configurator did have some issues during the last few days. This should be fixed by now. If you are still having issues, you can contact us at support@alltrons.com and I would love to help you further promptly.
Edit: The issue was an expired SSL certificate between the frontend and backend server. Frontend sends your configuration to the backend server which compiles the keymap into a hex file. This hex file is then sent back to the frontend which pushes it to your windows/mac app. The connection of sending the hex file back to the frontend was broken, which caused the app to keep waiting for a compiled version. This should usually take 5 seconds max.
pmarksTrue, it's deprecated. The reason I choose to use Mini is that this is a small keyboard that you will most likely move a lot over your desktop. Although Micro can be plugged in + out more frequently, is smaller, newer, etc, the mini connector can handle more physical force which occures when you move it on your desk a lot. If I designed the PCB over again, I would choose type C, but that is something for the Knops Mini 2.0 :-).
PawnerdAwesome! I hope that everything is going swimmingly for you and in the build process! Speaking of which, I've not received any additional information regarding.. well anything else about this drop, would you care to share an update please! Keep up the good work!
Silencer051Everything is going well. All units are assembled and programmed. I will do a final test before packaging and shipping them to Massdrop. Due to several deadlines for my study this might take a few weeks since I won't be able to work on it until the end of next week.
Very disappointed that the user friendly version of the flasher requires you to sign up on the cloud.
I get it, but not everything needs to be "on the cloud". Dropping it in the drawer and will forget about it.
Sadness.
Well, the sixkeyboard I was able to map was configured so there are only 4 keys in an arrow cluster arrangement. I looked around and found those two-key "osu keyboards" as you described. Currently I have osu left click and right click remapped to left arrow and right arrow. This way I can also use it for Stepmania.
@pyrobunny I hadn't thought of that! I might configure my other sixkeyboard in the arrangement you described and see how that feels. Counting them all so far...:
2x Knops x Cooler Master Maker Hub Mini Macro Keyboard
2x sixkeyboard
2x osu custom macro pads from Etsy
Lol, and to add to that my Max Falcon Mini Macro Pad... This is what happens when you're done hunting keyboards.
DEADicationhaha, that's quite a collection :'). I hope you will like your knops mini keyboards, since you do have some experience with these kind of devices. Yesterday I posted this keyboard to the subreddit of Osu players and see that many of them have joined. I think most people that play osu! will agree with you on the usefullness of a second (or fifth lol) little keyboard.
I really like the way @Pawnerd is on all the communication. The only issue to join is to know if @KingRama is gonna appear with an interesting drop here with a M6A version in aluminum...
DanielFerrerthanks! Rama is having a pre-order of his macropad with an expected delivery in the end of Q1 2018 on his own website. I don't think a drop should be expected before he delivers his first sales. However, I love the design of his keypad as well and understand your dilemma :-).
tyerkerswitches are sold per 800 units, I would have to sell ~100 keypads with clears to justify that cost. The product is not popular enough for that :)
