I bought the bigger version, and I love it i've been taking it with me on my bike (I cycle 2hours a day). I attached it to my steering bar with a simple tie rip And then just use the carabineer to just click it on. I've been listening to it loudly on the bycicle with my friends and after a week the battery is still not even halfway depleted! And I love that I don't have to put it away in the rain ! The only bad things are the somewhat weak bluetooth connection and that I had to pay 22 euros for import tax.
Cant do better for a (rugged) $50 bluetooth speaker,
sound is pretty good, though slightly tinny.
I have two of the large versions, the only physical issues I've had is with the carabiner breaking, I sent an email to the support team and received a response the next day, and a new speaker on my way the day after that.
the battery life is good, I get 8-10 hours of music playback at high volume.
The multi-speaker process is simple and flawless, there's no desynchronization between the speakers.
the volume can get quite high, but above 80% there is noticeable distortion.
The range is the only place i feel it falls flat, it seems that with many of my devices, the range is less than 40ft.
Only does SBC over Bluetooth. If you can't do at least AAC then I'm going to pick and alternative solution 80% of the time, hence 1 star.
Also, even through the aux port it sounds awful.
Edit: I probably should mention the positives. It seems really well built. The rubber and carabiner seems very sturdy. I'd have no problem hiking through the rain with this on my pack, or clipping it to my kayak. If only it sounded good.
joombagaYou can‘t hear the difference between aac and sbc, sbc can transfer more data than aac. Plus these aren’t hifi speakers, they made to enjoy your shitty pop songs near pool/beach. aux bypass the internal dac, if the sound is bad, it means the source is actually worse. Try it with a good dap, you’ll understand what i mean. I highly suggest updating your review
Cl0verI stand by the review. I can hear the difference between AAC and SBC. My sound source is fine. It doesn't matter to me that these aren't hifi speakers.
after running one of my units allthe way down, its battery wont take a charge and theres absolutely no way into these to switch battery for new one. thumbs down
Purchased less than a year ago, today it wouldn't turn on. It was great before it broke. I don't mistreat it or anything. Mostly use it when I'm in the shower, and only move it when it needs to be charged.
This is a really good speaker, I got the double one.
The build quality is nice, the sound quality is nice. The battery life is alright, although a little let down that the connection isn't USB-C, something that should be ubiquitous by now.
