Caveat emptor. Spring assisted knives are probably a no-go to Canada.
The Canadian Criminal Code wording on prohibited knives is exactly this:
(84)(1)(b) "any knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force, or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device attached to the handle of the knife.
Also, the CBSA has been confiscating all sort of knives including Spyderco (because of the hole that allows one-hand opening, FFS!) and even fixed-blade karambits because the ring at the end could be used as a ”knuckle duster”... I am crapping you negative.
Tread lightly, my fellow Canuckistanians, and remember that the gubmint knows what’s best for you!

Droid1963Spring assisted is (or at least was) acceptable as long as it is not activated by a button, toggle, sliding bolster, etc. On the scale or frame of the knife. You can buy this knife in Canada. You can buy Kershaw Speedsafes etc. no problem. At issue is a new interpretation but hopefully things will settle down soon. I’m like 20 for 20 shipments through since the decision. (Hoping I didn’t just curse that.)
