Kinda neat, but not something I would ever want with me in public.

Last possible minute, but,I'm in...the only problem now is this is the first blade in the series, and I need the whole collection

i have all three..sakimori, shinbu and hissou.james williams has awesome designs. and im joining this because this is the best price by 20 bucks these are advertised for on amazon or ebay... and i love this one particularly ... fyi there is a seller on ebay that makes traditional japanese rattan saya with bull horn kurigata and shidomi... great alternative to the kydex sheath it comes with. have them for all three models.
Now they just need to add the hisshou, and my collection will be (almost) complete.
You can read my review, but if you're too lazy to flip over, 4 out of 5 stars, not a fan of the plastic handles but everything else is awesome, decent price compared to street value, price does actually make sense for the blade and manufacturing quality and presentation value. Would recommend.
199 bucks for a CRKT. Ha!

What link?
You literally said it was a copy of another knife, theirfore you were, in fact, referring to the blade.
this isnt a tanto..its a snake head kisaki tip narrow sweeping point, used in full sized katanas longer cutting edge
I own the CRKT CR2910-BRK Hisshou. While I understand this was made for EDC - I was incredibly disappointed for the money how cheap the plastic escutcheon at the top of the grip is, along with visible glue and such. Came in a beautiful box, and it's a beautiful blade - topped with cheap plastic. This looks similar. .

Fully agree. I stopped buying CRKT products after the design choices they keep making. The blades however are beautiful and seem extremely well made. The setups surrounding them are suboptimal. I go primarily with TOPS blades these days.
it has a cord wrapped handle.which id want when there are conditions that would make a grip slip. over any type of plastic..or hard rubber. not sure why people are saying any part of the grip materials are plastic..all three in this line have imitation rayskin under a traditional cord wrap all the way around the end where a but ccap ( kashira ) would be several posters have said was plastic..is not.. .the only plastic ive seen on these high end Williams blades are the kydex sheaths. ..
A rather nice samurai castration knife
With the rayskin handle, the sheathe looks/feels like the odd man out. I expected to see a Japanese Saya type of scabbard.

The designer, James Williams, intended this for carry and use, which is why it uses a kydex sheath instead of a traditional saya.

there is a seller on ebay that is offering traditional rayskin saya for all three in this series...have two one for my hissou and sakimora... worth the price.
Haha. like perhaps if they moved the decimal to the left i might buy for the LOLs.
Groncho
Beat me to it.
Ahhhh yes, just what I was looking for to complete my edc...
Does anyone have a picture of the wooden box?

Doesn’t have to go through Human Resources, I guess.
It’s a meme. The misspelling is intentional. Just means this knife is some mall-ninja stuff.
