I paid well under $15.00 for a 12" Dexter bread knife. It has an unidentified stainless blade. It is plain. Some might consider it ugly. But it has not failed me in years of service. It is still unstained and sharp. I ordered, for just a few dollars more than this bread knife, a Chef's knife from CKTG in BD1N with a final HRC of 61 and will receive a free bread knife with it. That bread knife will become a Christmas present. Every once in a while, I have to stop and thank GOD for my first world problems.
Due to the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information..... It's a bread knife..
RelaxinI can't think of a functional use for that. Looks like they removed to much metal when making the serrations and didn't regrind the heel to match. Will probably lead to bread slices that don't quite make it through the bottom crust.
"Slice through day-old baguettes ...."
I use kitchen shears to do this, cutting around the crust and then cutting the middle, or just yanking it apart.
