really? a keeper is $2 extra? aren't keepers pretty standard to watch straps as a whole? what am i supposed to do with the end then?

DocZZZThe price difference is between the ZULU and the NATO designs. It has nothing to do with the keepers. I think they are referring to the second piece of leather on the NATOs, with its extra metal loop, as a "keeper," which it is not. The keepers are the two metal loops adjacent to the buckle, present on both designs. In general, I think the trademark problems associated with the names have made distinguishing the two designs difficult.
CloacaYou are correct. Thank you for clarifying this.

Is the keeper made out of the same type of leather? If so, at $70 for the main part, you'd think it'd cost 30% more if the leather is that expensive...is it a cheaper, thinner material? That would suit me, as I don't like a thick material for the watch to sit on as it raises the whole profile...but I would like to know what that material is if someone from Da Luca is reading, thanks

It does, thank you. Seems like a pretty good deal to get 30percent more of this really expensive leather for just 2 bucks! Thanks for the quick answer

I have read the reviews and seen great things about the strap. Unfortunately I can’t justify supporting this drop with the slight possibility that another color would be offered eventually. I’m sure it is a wonderful strap but I would never wear the colors that are offered. As James Taylor once said ”deep greens and blues are the colors I choose.” I am sure the colors currently offered work great for some people, but honestly I would avoid wearing them specifically for color alone. It’s just not me. All of the free natos I get from watch dealers that aren’t green, blue, black, grey, or some Bond combination of those, either gets given away or thrown away. I hope your drop finds the support it needs to offer more colors as my new Tudor Black Bay Steel would love a black, navy, or dark green Da-Luca. Best, Judson
jgmvmThanks for the feedback, we are listening and greatly appreciate what you have to say. We read every single comment and take them fully into consideration for future drops.

Do these bands darken with age? I’d love to see a pic of the color and patina that the natural color develops.
I’m intrigued by the quality of the leather, but the color of the natural strap is much lighter than anything I’d normally buy. What can I expect it to look like after it patinas?
Thanks.
K.T.NYes these will darken a good amount over time. Don’t let the light color dissuade you as it is merely a snapshot at this exact time in it’s life.
We wrote a blog a long time ago that included photos of a natural colored leather shown side by side with the exact same leather that had been used and worn for a tad over a month. This would be a more extreme case, but it should show you what it can look like:

EthreeThey are long, but in my opinion, that is waaaay better than being too short (I like a few extra holes on the strap after I put it on). As with any NATO/ZULU, you can simply double back and tuck in the extra. With just a little bit of care, you could also trim the strap to an exact length that you want.
While I don't have gorilla wrists, they are probably a little bigger than most -- even still, it is a long strap on my wrist. I double back and tuck in and I think it looks perfect that way -- adds a lot of class to even the most simplest watch!

You don't want ONE of these, trust me. I bought ONE of the last drop (CXL) DaLuca had going and I'm kicking myself for it. I should of bought at least TWO (or more!!). I joined this drop the moment I saw it and I bought TWO of them! These are the nicest straps I have ever seen or worn - I love these!
DA-LUCA -- do these straps have the stamping on the back like I have seen for some of the shell cordovan, or is that typically just a Horween "trademark"?
Thanks for putting these out there for us --- I recently just discovered your straps and before long, I think I will have several for each of my watches -- high quality stuff that I have received - very happy!!
LSNadonThank you for the kind words. If you need anything else at all just let us know. We are humbled and here to serve our customers. We are here because of you, so thank you.
The stamps (ink) are only on Horween Shell Cordovan, but we do hot stamp our logo onto the back of the longer version of these drops.

How thick are the straps?
RedPhrostApprox 1.5mm-1.6mm. Each hide varies, but the specific hides used for this drop are around that thickness.
