Sailor Sweaters—As Classic As It Gets
The Deauville wool sweaters are named for a resort city on the western coast of France known for hosting prestigious horse races and the renowned Deauville American Film Festival. And like the city of Deauville, they're classically French, inspired by the slim-fitting sailor sweaters that originated in Brittany. Familiar details include a striped pattern, a remeshed crewneck, and a button closure on the left shoulder. The navy/heather gray style has a lighter, less dense knit and rubber hardware, while the navy/terracotta style has a heavier, denser knit and metal hardware. Both are complete with an embroidered logo on the left sleeve.
