Seriously over-priced and under featured.
It's as if these guys have never seen their competitors and are just pulling prices out of thin air.
Or alternatively, assume MD shoppers are a bunch of ill-informed, dip-shits willing to buy anything placed before them?
If you're looking for this level of quality/features at a more realistic price, check out Walmart's camping/sporting goods department, or brands like Voodoo Tactical from most military surplus-type stores.
If you're willing to spend more for better quality, there are endless possibilities. Maxpedition, for one, comes to mind.
This pack has the same capacity as my hiking pack, but is a pound lighter -- probably because it doesn't have a frame. How is this pack for carrying an actual overnight loadout? I.e., an X-Mid 1P, an Outdoor Vitals ultralight sleep pad, a massdrop pine down blanket, and smaller stuff like cooking gear, clothes, etc.? Including consumables, maybe 35 lbs.
There are zero pictures of the inside of the bag, so I can't even tell if, e.g., the tent, would actually fit.
This is a clone of the Pipergear backpack manufactured for US govt contracts. I bought one on a base in Djibouti back in 2004. Here's a link to their website showing the same backpack.
