@DekoniAudio : two questions:
  1. Which pads contain real leather and which don't?
  2. Have you tried making Alcantara(-ish) pads (like the Sennheiser HD569's have). Those are really comformtable as well and might be acoustically better / less bass absorbing than velours. I have the Elite Velours pads and they make the sound of the M50x's a little more brittle/tinny than the stock pads (please put a little more foam/cloth over the driver) . I like the wider soundstage and don't mind the loss of the bass hump though.

Real leather is the Elite Series- Sheepskin, Fenestrated Sheepskin, or the Hybrid. All others are synthetic or velour! Thx!
dekoni
Thanks!
Anyone tried the sheepskin on a m40x? I bought them, i’m waiting but i’m so afraid, these aren’t cheap at all. Any graph?
I'm pretty sure this ear pads will work on the new M50XBT Bluetooth version?
I was wondering if anyone can confirm that these listed on Amazon.com: https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=B01MYTR4ZF&i=electronics&ref=nb_sb_noss are the same as the Elite Sheepskin for ATH-M50x listed here. There are two reasons I ask:
  1. The ones on Amazon show a list price of $59.99 and yet on Dekoni's website they are $69.99
  2. I can get the ones from Amazon at $49.99 in two days while I have to wait for the ones listed here at $47.99
Also, does anyone know if the Dekoni pads for ATH-M50x would fit Mitchell & Johnson MJ2's?
birdland
I've decided I'm going to order from Massdrop because I want to support them. However, it would be nice if I knew that these would fit Mitchell & Johnson MJ2's. I would buy two of them if they did - one pair for my M50s and the other for the MJ2's. :)
Have anyone here try these pad with the ATH - M40X? If so does it improve/ alter the sound of them?
vincentquy
I have them along with the m40x’s. The sound is mostly the same with bit of a boost in the low end … just a bit. It’s not a deal maker. I prefer these over stock (obviously) and brain wavz pads.

Thanks for the info. Just want to know which version did you get?
Will these fit the MDR-1A?
Beqrd
Thanks!
@dekoni Would there be easily noticeable sound difference between DT pads - standard pleather and sheepskin variants? I want to use them with AKG K550/K553 and I would like the sound to be as close to stock pads as possible. @SomeTechNoob wrote some time ago that pleather pads sounded very close to stock, but I'd prefer sheepskin as they should be more comfortable (getting less warm, softer, etc.). So I hesitate now between the two options.
Would the Beyerdynamic version work with the Amiron Home?
JustFluxz
I wonder this,too.
Hope this drops soon.

Would love to see this drop again. I've missed it twice due to notification preferences on Massdrop not sticking after I changed it to be notified. Hopefully the notification works next time around!
Do these also fit the T1.2? If so, anyone have recommendations on which pad to go with?
Hi, just wanted to share that I really enjoy the sheepskin pads on my M50x and Sennheiser HD 800. Super luxurious feeling and looking. I had to give my m50x pads to someone and must get another pair!
Here's a pic to show that Dekoni earpads are deeper. This is my limited edition colorway pair with a bluetooth adapter by East Brooklyn Labs and Dekoni Elite Velours:

We'll get a comparison graph for you and @Kalidor.
Here's a graph from Dekoni!

can someone list the actual size of these pads in mm? im looking for pads for an odd replacement and wondering the size of these? are the m50x pads the 110 type or the 95mm? same for the ft ones whats the outer diameter?
Does the DT Premium Memory Foam version use sheepskin?
Whaf03
I am asking Matt T to clarify...
Glad these turned out well with my AKG K553 Pros. Before and after, relative thickness without plastic ring from OEM pads, Dekoni with cannibalized plastic ring form OEM pads, final result. The Dekoni feel firmer than the old pads, but are quite comfortable. I'm not sure if using the plastic ring from the old pads, slipped inside the rear opening of the Dekonis, is worth the effort of slicing them out of the old pads, but another brand of replacement pads includes that as part of the installation instructions, so I wanted to see if it made a difference.

Hoping for the best with these. I got a pair of Brainwavz for my AKG K553s and they were disappointing. A poor fit, and the pads are about an eighth to a quarter inch too tall, increasing the distance from driver to ear, and sucking the life out of the sound. A shame because they're a nice purple! Looking forward to replacing the almost completely disintegrated OEM pads (just the covering has disintegrated).
Will this fix the Sony WH-1000XM2?

I meant Dekoni was prototyping pads specifically meant for the WH-1000XM2, according to their Instagram. There’s going to be two types, one of them that’s supposed to be unusually good at wicking sweat. However, I don’t think they have been released yet.

Thanks for the update. I will wait for them to release something
Just in case any one missed it there is now a DT Series HYBRID earpad available on this drop!!
I really want a pair for my Beyer Amirons (which sound perfect stock) for comfort issues. But if they change the sound I'll have completely wasted my money as I don't need them for any other headphones. Dekoni, can you guys test velours on the T1/Amiron/1990 and measure the differences? It'd be what allows me to make the purchase as I've waited on this drop for some weeks.
I bought a set of sheepsdkin for my AT ATH-50X a while back. Only just got around to swapping them in recently, as I was listening to other headphones for a bit.
I had been pad rolling on the M50X for quite a while, but no more I think.
The Dekoni are super comfy and I think the M60X sound better with them on. The Dekoni just fit around my largish ears. I always though the M50X had a lot of bass, and its still there but maybe a bit LESS BOOMY.
Bless Dekoni pads!
@dekoni Saw these on Massdrop, ended up ordering them cheaper off eBay.
You have made the perfect replacement pad for us K553 Pro owners. Platinum Pleather DT770 pads are super easy to install and are the most close-to-stock sounding aftermarket pads I've ever tried.
Thanks for ending a search that's been going on for over 2 years!

SomeTechNoob
Thx for sharing glad you enjoyed the pads!
Does anybody know which of the sheepskin model have the least sound leak and provide best isolation?
Spoilt
I would imagine the regular sheepskin without perforations.
Will these fit The non X Version? I have the ones without a removable cable. Also how Will the sound change? Any info before this ends is appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you sir!!!!
You can compensate a little for that by taping a cloth between the drivers and the pads (I used two layers of an old sweater). Still a bit more tinny than with stock pads, but less harsh, better soundstage and less boomy bass. I'd say the stock pads have an overall better sound, the Dekoni elite velours pads are way more comfortable and have (+ cloth) a mellow, more lightweight (tinny, if you like) sound.

Does anyone know if if these will fit the Beyerdynamic Amiron Home?
how is this different from brainwavz sheepskin? Didnt notice dekoni’s drop and just bought brainwavz ahead of time . As compared to sound and comfort are they just the same? Thanks
I have velour ones but not using them. They were too thicker than normal ones.
Anyone has the memory foam ones for the M50X? They seem really shallow and the clamping force on the base is killing me, replaced them with Shure SRH940 pads and still it starts to be annoying after an hour or so. Wondering if I should go with these or the HM5 pads? Got them on my HD598s with an adapter (so I'm not planning on replacing) and I love them!
FireCharge
Don't use HM5 pads on the M50X, I tried them and they completely killed the bass and made it sound very tinny. The issue is thick pads move the drivers too far away from your ears, and they need to stay close to retain the quality sound the M50X is known for. I'm hesitant to try any of Dekoni's pads on the M50X due to their thickness
I'm also running the same Shure pads you have and they've been the best. You can reduce the clamping force by gently and carefully flexing the headband outward a little at a time. There are a few youtube videos showing how.
FireCharge
Agree with Blaylock on HM5 pads on the M50x. But for me the Dekoni sheep skin sound just fine. Maybe the bass is tighter and less boomy/bloomy.
Is there a wrong photo for DT sheepskin?Shape is wrong...
Any chance in dropping these again soon?
Shazb0t
running now.

Joined for the DT Elite Sheepskin pads. Is the picture correct? They look like they might be the m50x pads.
Any chance these would fit Audeze EL-8s?
I recently purchased some Brainwavz round pads, which seem to fit my DT headphones fine. They were 1/2 the price of these (while on sale). Are these any different/better than the Brainwavz pads?

hmmm.. that sounds good, except both companies sell a single pad that is "applicable" to multiple headphones, each of which would have it's own signature. When they say "this will fit" they mean it will fit size-wise, not audio-wise. For a particular pad, do they provide a unique graph for every headphone model that pad fits? If not, then the graphs are just a marketing gimmick.
BlueSkies
These are for particular headphones. There are actually multiple models for different headphones at checkout.
I don't really feel like looking for these particular ones. But for the ones I bought, they provided these: https://dekoniaudio.com/dekoni-audio-sennheiser-hd800-ear-pad-frequency-extravaganza/
