These are made in China meaning don't believe a single thing in specs about it if you wish to avoid getting hurt. They should be fine for low voltage messing around and projects, but please don't use them for anything serious that can potentially hurt you.

I do agree there are a lot really shitty quality products from China, I think the mean reason about it is due to the large number of things they produce. simply put it this way... 90% bad products out of 100 products is still less than 10% bad products out of 1000 products...I think it is good for you to try to warn people, but the way you could do it can be improved. by point out where it is made should not be in the first thing or not even be a thing. you should just stay with the products...it feels like you are saying this ' you have to be careful about those people, because they are black, they are more likely to do crimes' see the problems there? Anyway, I do appreciate that you talk like a civilized person and I really like that you do care about other people's well being and safety.

RebuswindTo be fair, there are a higher percentage of mislabeled and counterfeit products that originate in China because their government generally does not recognize US patent and copyright law. That said, any company selling those products in this country has a fairly high probability of losing money trying to import improperly-marked goods.
Any time my life is on the line, I am going to listen to my own feeling as to what is safe for me to use, regardless of whether there may be an unfair bias toward products made in my own country or made by "my own people." **
** Though I, personally, bias toward logic rather than any emotional stance. Still, I can't fault someone for choosing something because of some emotional reason if their life is on the line and they are willing to live (or die) by that choice.

I keep encountering items on here that are available for the same or a lower price elsewhere. . Furthermore, it parades the same limited set of products on a constant cycle. Unfortunately, my beloved Massdrop has become just another retailer, except with absurdly long delivery times and an inventory that's out of stock 3/4 of the time.
Buy this direct from the manufacturer.

sayingandparsingOn certain things, I'd agree with you, but some things you can't find elsewhere. Caveat Emptor really applies when purchasing, especially as the discount they can give has basis in the deal that they can negotiate with the manufacturer.

Still cheaper direct from the manufacturer. They go on sale FTTT; I paid $39.99 shipped in July. Pretty decent RMS meter, but I'd still use the FLUKE for higher potential. I got it mainly for the bluetooth functionality with Android. App works very well. I've had zero complaints and I'm a big complainer...

Djamar97For the fun of overpaying and waiting longer. Or, perhaps because of the sheer joy of buying from someplace where you're stuck with a plastic brick if it malfunctions instead of just shipping it back with no questions asked.
Those would be the only reasons that I can think of... but if you're one of these people chances are pretty good that you're missing out on this deal in the first place because you're too busy shaving your head with a tactical cheese grater.

Works as promised. Wanted another meter but have a Fluke so was looking for something decent but inexpensive and had a frequency counter. Data logging is a bonus.

I have the model B35 model without the Android logging and it works well. The analog scale refreshes pretty quickly when I have a transient voltage. The autoranging switching is slow, but you can easily set it to a specific scale. Not as nice as my Fluke meter, but it's also 1/3 the price. It's a nice upgrade from the entry level $20-$30 DVMs.

Why doesn't MD allow this to ship to Canada ?
If they used the Amazon Li-Ion power source description as their basis for making this decision, it is wrong because this unit takes standard AA batteries and it says so in the OWON manual for the B35T+ which this is a clone of as stated here previously.
The Juiced power-bank also dropping here at this time IS allowed to ship to Canada, go figure.
