IBS meant Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I have it. I go for a 10 minute toilet break about every 2 hours. Nice way to have a break. Recommend 👍
You're welcome. A lot of people would still wear these for summer hiking because of the fit and cushioning. Just not for me. A summer antimicrobial sock is definitely something I'm on the look out for. Bamboo is a popular fiber for that. But they tend to be mid-weight and poor sloppy fit.

To address what both of you are talking about.... Johnny has a point that he may or may not understand. If you google "mulesing" there's plenty of info on the topic.
It takes a certain type of detached person to do that to a living animal. There's more to the shearing and in some cases, the animals are gashed and not humanely treated when the wound is being sewn together.
And, if you have a strong stomach, check out the pictures to see why some of us find it to be so horrible.
There's plenty of other issues when you obtain materials from animals... but I won't go down that rabbit hole in this post.

I am very excited to present a new Massdrop collaboration! We started with an idea to make an amazing sock for hiking and running. We also wanted it to look good enough that you could wear it to work, around town or to the gym - too many technical socks look too techy. Finally we wanted to make it comfy enough that you'd want to wear it while lounging around your house.
I've been super impressed with the end results. Our staff and friends have been testing out these socks for months and we're positive these are these best bang for the buck socks available anywhere. We took the already popular Trail Cuff, and made it a bit softer to the touch, made it a little thinner so you can wear this in the summer (the Trail Cuff is too thick/warm for that), and improved upon the Tron-esque aesthetics.
I'm thrilled we're working with Fitsok on this adventure. They are very well known in the running world. Fitsok is the athletic brand of The Sock Factory. All socks are dyed and manufactured in Hickory, North Carolina in their factory. A little known secret in the sock world is that there are only a few sock factories in the US, and a lot of brands outsource to these few. So rather than go with Brand X, who then acts as a go-between for us and the factory, we've gone direct. The end result is that we have more control over the socks being made, the process is faster, and we can negotiate a better value for you as we have eliminated the middleman.
The socks come in a 3-pack of all black, or mixed green/gray/light gray. I'm getting one of each. We also made sure to offer an XXL for our big-feeted friends. And since these are made in the US, the turnaround time is a lot faster - the socks will ship out in April!

I'm road tripping around Iceland right now, staying in hostels and guest houses. Danny gave me a couple samples to try out.. and they are awesome. I can wear these all day driving for hours, hiking, and walking around a lot. I can hand wash these in the sink and leave them to dry at 3:30am, and they are dry by 8am. They're great for hiking! I started out today with a pair of darn tough socks.. generally a great pair of socks but this pair didn't have enough elastic so kept sliding down. I switched into these socks and alll was well again. I could last my whole trip with 2 pairs of these socks.. maybe even 1 if I had to. I joined the drop for two 3-packs :) I usually wear a 7.5-8 in Womens and the medium fits perfectly.

Also.. please take "elastic" with a grain of salt. I am probably using the wrong word to describe how stretchy it is, when that's likely not the actual material used in the sock :)

Edit: @DannyMilks I hope you/MD can sort something out in near future for low ankle variants, personally prefer low ankle socks, on or below, even in the dead smack of winter. Would be fab to see that happen :)

This is how these socks look after ONE DAY of wear (no washing). The day was ~90 minutes of walking in the city and then mostly sitting. I have 10-year-old Woolie Boolie socks I've worn about 300 times that are in better condition than this. To add to this, my feet felt cold and sweaty all day, unlike in any merino sock I've worn before. It reminded me of 12 years ago when I used to wear cotton socks.

adamhosmanYeah, mine showed similar wear and pilling after 1-2 outings. Comfiest socks I own though. Only ever had regular cotton dress socks before this, usually soggy by mid-day. These work for me. For the price/comfort ratio, I think I can deal with how scrappy they look :D One has developed the start of a tiny hole around ankle area (only appears if stretched), I'll wait to see how that goes before testing my luck with the warranty.

Mine arrived and look great, except all six say L, which I assume means left. Just wondering if that was a mistake. They don't seem like they're shaped to be left-specific.

I understand why these socks sell out so quickly: USA made, merino wool, lifetime warranty and a good price. I'm so glad a took a chance on these. I've been a darn tough fan for years but their prices keep going up. Thank you Fitsok and Drop for providing these, Please figure out how to keep them in stock.

Are you referring to the raw wool with brown accents? Thoes are the first batch I ordered from "Massdrop," around 2017 or early 2018. The black sock is from "Drop" I ordered in 2020 and the new socks are not the same socks from old: Meaning, the new socks don't seem to be as well made as the old "Massdrop" socks.

Gunnersmate2I"ve ordered 6 or 7 times since they launched so I've got pairs from various drops over that time frame (as old socks wear out replace them with these). The most recent order came in recently and after the first wash they still appear to be in good shape, the shipment immediately prior to that was the one I had some small issues with.
