Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

1.The dimensions of the wooden ear cups made from teak, as well as the rosewood and ebony ear cups are different. The wooden ear-cups carved from teakwood are machined to a very thin finish, allowing a larger chamber which in turn creates a unique sound signature.
2.Teak is a very strong and stable wood, which allows the wood to be carved into very thin pieces without sacrificing the integrity of the ear cups. However, the same machining is rather difficult to apply to most other woods due to their lower levels of sturdiness.
3. We hope by introducing the Teak headphones, we can offer a whole new user experience with a unique sound signature, allowing us to differentiate our headphones from the similar models from Denon and Fostex.
4. We are considering the option of selling the rosewood and ebony ear cups standalone, but the teak ear cups will not be for sale on their own because of their exclusivity.
More information will be uploaded onto our website, www.emu.com.
I am sure there will be plenty to buy the rosewood and ebony chambers extra to play with. In fact it would emphasize the unique difference in the "Teak" custom chamber. Since we are on the topic of wood, Is the teak a natural finish preserved with oils or lacquered or polyurethane finish? There are pros and cons to each when in regard to teak specifically. (search yacht care)
More importantly, is there any test data for the "Teak or Walnut" with frequency response with phase, Thd at various volumes of input, impulse response, impedance chart etc. based on a Test Head? If so can you post a link? No offense but the sales brochure is pretty vague with only the basics posted. Contrary to some superstitious audiophiles, Test data actually helps sell products.
In regards to the walnut, Are they a Creative Aurvana live 1 or 2 variant with walnut chambers?
Teak seems to be preferred by people from many South-east Asia countries as material for making furnitures. I think the Audio Technica W1000Z also use teak cups.
Thanks!
I hope there are some mods to have removable cables by the time my cables break down.
