Named for the Italian word for feather, the PIUMA fountain pen from Los Angeles–based Ensso is a study in functional simplicity. It’s precision-machined from a solid block of aluminum, finished with a stealthy black coating, and fitted with a smooth-writing German-made nib Read More
This is one of my favorite fountain pens, All black, aluminum made, light weight and of the perfect size for my hands (large). The nib is very smooth, I use it as a daily pen along with Diamine Shimmer Moon Dust ink which is perfect for taking notes as its grey color does not penetrate paper. The nib is wet enough for shimmer ink to flow and get enough flow to let the shimmer colors through. I have the Medium NIB.
The pen does not have a clip, not critical for me but the Vipey's review I right it does roll.
The pen looks stunning! It has a really nice weight to it as well. It is a relatively large pen but its weight is not prohibitively high. It is not too light either (like plastic pens), so it still has a really premium feel!
The pen cannot be posted, but the weight distribution is good. The cap screws on and does make a slightly screechy noise because you are rubbing metal on metal. But my friends and I did not find it annoying. Furthermore, the noise does reduce after a few days (it is barely noticable now).
I got the medium nib and it was slightly thicker than other mediums that I am used to. But it writes really smoothly without any skipping.
Overall, this is an amazing pen and I would recommend it to anyone!!!!
What a beautiful pen! Stunning to look at and hold. Ink flows smoothly but a word of warning; the extra-fine nib is a medium so if you want a fine or extra-fine this pen isn’t for you, sadly...
This purchase was a spur of the moment" sort of purchase, but I'm glad I did it. The Fine #6 Bock nib I bought writes smoothly with the slightest hint of feedback, exactly how I like my fountain pens. I inked mine with Monteverde Midnight Black, and the colour combo is very suitable for professional environments. And very dark... like my soul.
I wish it came with a clip - I put mine in a case whenever it's not in use to prevent it from rolling away.
It writes smoothly and feels nice to hold, but the fact that it doesn't have a clip is an absolute deal breaker. I already have pens in my desk, I don't need another one. Somehow, this fact totally blew past me when I made the purchase. My bad.
I actually love this pen. Due to the anodize finish, the screwing and unscrewing of the cap is one of the most satisfying feelings ever, plus it makes this metallic sound that is music to my ears. However, I had to buy a clip on Amazon, open the clip's "arms" to accommodate the cap's width, and JB Weld it to the cap to actually make the pen realistic to carry. If it had a pocket clip I'd give 5-stars.
Here's a link to the clip I bought: https://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Space-bcl-Matte-Bullet/dp/B0014M0AO4/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=black+pen+clip&qid=1595882956&sr=8-2
