Uhh, just saying, but calling someone else a failure when you can't even spell correctly isn't very convincing.

So the drop is a couple of 50 cent pieces of steel someone drilled holes into? Is this made by the same people that made the $30 bamboo plank?

you mean broke out the circlejerk. lol just because you use the wrong tool for the job doesn't make it right, not all things are created equal, use the right bloody tool for the job. a sharpened rock can chisel wood, it doen't mean it's best practice ffs. lol. man this site has been flooded with mall ninja idiots in the last few years.

Nor am I. On the other hand, if EOD holds a supply schedule, they can sell through it to any state, local or muni government that fills out a couple forms, so could be a lotta things.

14themoneyHonestly anyone whos ever had the misfortune of trying to fit one of these in their toolbags knows there might be room for one of these breacher bars instead... though protip sliding the $5 special through the toolbag loop(s) alongside the belt itself is okay as long as you dont have to dodge the millwork... Then again, saving a vanity and/or the painters time should cover the cost of this set anyway. If you know you know.
I'm just dying over here that 489 people thought that they really needed a 'robotic' breacher bar. I wonder if it was sold by 'Fluffy Bubblepants' would the number be quite as high?

CalaverasgrandeDon't be silly. It's not a "robotic" breacher bar. It's a breacher bar sold/produced by a company called "EOD Robotics"

Let's be honest, the only thing 99.8% of you guys will be opening with these in hand is your instagram or tiktok to post pics of your breacher bars, LOL.

I have quite a few of these laying around the house, some in titanium even. I'm not quite sure what to use them for, but it's kinda cool looking. For those who are "prying", what are you prying exactly??

I own one from when they first went live on CountyComm. It’s a great pry bar that I added a paracord wrap to for grip and it’s even better. I also carry it as a “area denial” wedge as it can be stuffed into the seam of a door jam at most places that use commerial fire resistant doors. It prevents the door from opening more than 15 degrees.

About the steel: 1045 is a medium carbon plain carbon (not alloyed) steel. It has a nominal carbon content of .45%. High carbon steels have .8% carbon or more. Rockwell C hardness of 45 is in the range of what is usually called "spring temper." It means that wear resistance is moderate but the steel is difficult to deform. Shovels and other tools used to exert leverage are often hardened to this range. I'm sure 1045 makes a fine pry bar. It's not an exotic material but it's good for this application. If the tools are hardened by martempering , a readily available process that is used on springs and small parts, they'll be even better because it will guarantee uniform hardness throughout the part.

WillieMcTellChanging the microstructure to martensite (with a quench) will increases surface hardness/ bulk stiffness at the cost of brittleness, even if you reheat and temper. There is always a tradeoff between stiffness and brittleness, the key is designed thickness (for the application and need, tactical light vs high mass ductility), you balance your metal from here, if you design on the edge you need better metal, there is also $. 17-4 PH H900 is magic relatively cheap metal, create a thick crowbar out of this and you are set. If the internal stress are low with a designed solution @ Rockwell 45, there is no need for stiffer, higher strength metal, as the internal stresses will never get high enough to be out of factors of safety for designed loads.

Hi there! Does anyone from Germany have any experiences with the customs regarding a tool such as this? I mean, for knives etc. there are clear regulations and one can meet the decision accordingly. When it comes to a pry bar or anything like this, I have no idea, how the customs will react on it. Sure, pry bars are being sold in Germany as well, but like said, no clue how the customs will react on this thing. Any help would be appreciated.
Good god - he wants to know how German Customs looks on carrying pry-bars. Not whether he can make one. If he has one in his pocket, whether he made it or bought it, what is German Customs going to say if he tries to cross the border with it? How is telling him that the materials and other alternatives are available at HD, HF and most local roadside ditches, even remotely "On Point"?

WRayIt's obvious to me that I put my response in the wrong place. It was a general diatribe about my opinion of this "deal". I doubt that I could give you an accurate account of the customs rules for the country where I live. I know that Canada is pretty sticky about knife imports because of what I have read here. I don't recall seeing anyone making any statements about Germany and her rules.
