mass_drop_user_42Curious how those compare to the elite sport which I have.
o5stisilverdid not have the elite sport; but here's my quick review
65t pros: very very solid connection for music; u can say it blips maybe 1-2 times a week phone is eh, in close space ie office, sound is good, outside it's hit or miss; the way they advertised it it's suppose to be super good outside, which imo is not the case connects to 2 devices or 1 basically instantly, as soon as u take it out the charge case; it's wonderful if u have phone+tablet setup, even phone+computer
if you are looking into truly wireless, this is it. u may see cheaper options but they all suck in some way. the only competitor imo is the samsung iconx; but it doesnt have bt 5 which allows multipoint connection, and from my experiece it kept disconnecting from my pixel 2
cons: connection/audio does distort when near high pitch sounds; like when im near a bus or train and it brakes, that squealing will cause minor skips the fit; forget wearing any hat that covers ur ears; it'll start hurting ur ear after a while mic is meh outdoors

i would be willing to tough it out if it was only once per song or something but it sometimes is near constant, to the point where it is clearly a faulty pair. i tried to get in contact with the company for a replacement and they wouldnt answer, which leads me to assume they know what their product is like and are unwilling to work with customers to correct. fortunately massdrop offered me a full refund.

So It mentioned that I wouldn’t be charged until the drop was complete and item was shipped, so why was I charged today?

ebernalYou’re charged once the drop ends. Not when the item is shipped. It’s like that for everything on MD

Here's the review I posted on Amazon after picking these up here, on Massdrop.
These buds have some very important strengths, but also a couple of critical flaws. UPDATE: after a month, the weak connection between buds (dropping the right bud) is a constant irritant. The mic isn't as bad as I thought (see below) but it's still terrible outdoors or where there's ambient noise: you need a quiet room or the caller will hear everything at almost equal volume. The battery duration is tolerable but the buds' charge rate in the cradle is definitely too slow -- once you run the battery low, you're done for a while. Sound quality remains the high point. Still three stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Strengths: The sound quality, especially in music, is a high point. Playing Justin Timberlake's "Say Something" produces distortion-free low-frequency that rivals my Shure E5C buds. The Verse buds are not as neutral as the Shures, but the very-low frequencies in that tune come through more clearly and with greater impact on the Verse buds (the Shures are better on high frequencies, but not by a huge margin). I'm genuinely surprised about this performance. Absolutely did not expect it. Pairing is easy and the units are generally easy to use (they turn on and connect without hassle). They fit snugly (no bouncing or wiggling out) without causing uncomfortable pressure. I've worn them for four hours straight at work, without discomfort. Neutral: Battery life is adequate. The buds run for three or four hours playing music. The problem of course is they then must be recharged, so you're stuck switching to wired buds or waiting. Charge rate is too slow. The buds themselves -- especially the left one, which does all the communicating with the phone -- take too long to recharge. The case holds enough power to recharge them a couple of times before you need to plug the case back in. I can't tell whether it charges the buds and case simultaneously (good) or sequentially (bad). I'll update if I figure this out. Balancing size and battery life is tough. I want another hour and faster charging. But keeping them small is also valuable. So this is a wash. Weaknesses: The right bud briefly loses connection with the left (primary) bud frequently. This results in a two-second cut where the right bud cuts for a split second and then fades back in. Very distracting when listening to music. If it was a rare problem, that would be one thing. But, while intermittent, it happens an average of several times an hour. My momma always said I had a thick skull, but Erato really needed to nail down the pairing between buds to avoid this problem. This problem alone is almost enough to warrant returning them. The mic for talking performs inconsistently. Some people report that I sound muffled and that they can hear sounds like someone is tapping on the mic. Testing at home, the mic worked fine, and in other situations it was okay as well. The buds are not good at eliminating noise: if you're outside, everyone will know it. That's fairly mature technology, generally, so I expected better performance in noise reduction. I need the mic to perform well and consistently for business, so I'm frustrated about the mic on this product. The back (base? bottom? rear?) of the bud, which faces out of your ear and is where the charging contacts are, has a sharp edge all around, which is the only thing about these buds that's uncomfortable. It can cut into your ear where the bud rests. It might also contribute to keeping the bud seated in the ear, but I'd prefer the rim a bit more rounded off. Summary: + Great sound quality for music + Easy pairing + Acceptable battery life + Slow charging + Unreliable microphone I bought them on Massdrop, so returning them isn't easy. If I bought them on Amazon, I'm not sure whether I'd return and try another pair. I suspect the music sound quality is unusually good for wireless buds. I'll probably keep them and use them until Bluetooth 5 buds are common, and then I might try another pair.

Thanks for the info. I just saw a new drop and it is for Acoustic Research earbuds. I will go for them and not the Erato for sure. AR used to be a great company and their new DAP's are very nice. I will try out these.

BionicTulipI've had these for almost 3 months now. I finally got the manufacturer to respond (third inquiry) and RMA the first set of buds because the right bud simply could not maintain connection. It seemed to become progressively worse.
The new set arrived today (6/5/18).
Same problem, evident within the first 10 seconds, and no less frequent.
I must recommend avoiding this product.

Got these last month - I mostly use them for listening to podcasts but I still consider the audio quality complete crap (comparing to my other low end wireless buds the BRAGI headphone). Connectivity isn't amazing either. I do like the size and the charging case. Definitely no issues with volume.

AdamBI would suggest Massdrop not do business with that company again. It's not in their best interest.

Reading some reviews seem to confirm what was a red flag for me when perusing the specs.
3 hours playtime and 15 hours standby.
Add to this - slow charging and ill fitting for some, clearly a disadvantage for what should be something designed to be portable and provide reasonable function in the real world.
Pass.....
Howdy Everyone, We have extended this drop through the weekend. The original expected shipping date was March 30th. The new expected shipping date is March 27th so the wait time has been shortened by 3 days. Cheers.

Do these have a good seal for really good bass? My first pair of Wireless earphones were the Erato Muse 5. I still have them and they still ROCK!! I put a pair of Comlys on the and made all the difference. I have owned many pair (Sony,Zolo, Crazybaby etc) and Erato are the best.

BionicTulipComply are foam eartips that expand in your ear for a great seal. This improves the sound, especially the bass. Go to www.complyfoam.com They don't have many tips for truely wireless buds, I just kind of figured it out.
