Now the fun part Mink oil saturation and break in. :-)
RblprdWow, awesome. Can I ship you another fold wallet, borrow yours for a week to take some shots for the product page and ship it back? So many of the items we list look better with age but it's always hard to show when we get the brand new samples.

Wow pretty big price jump. Last time these wallets were offered on MD the final price was $20.

akafridi3Im hoping the latest will be around the 15th that we get them. If its later than that its kind of ridiculous if you ask me.
akafridi3Hi akafridi3, I am still crafting wallets. I will keep you and the rest of the group updated as the process unfolds. Thank you so much for your purchase and patience, John
A couple of uses I could think of for the fold wallet besides cash and cards. Thank you all for the support!

Faler.BrandHi John- I learn from a previous post of yours that Russet is the one which should be chosen for enjoying the best patina change, but I see Brown shell cordovan equally tempting from your latest pictures. My questions are Is brown shell cordovan darker than Russet? If possible and if you have stock, could you please post pictures of both of them under sunlight placed side by side? I tried googling but could not find pictures. Please suggest the care that should be taken up for this wallet if any(apply mink oil?)
Thank You!
KartAt the moment it is night time in Ohio so sun light photos will not be possible but I will note that all leathers even black leathers will develop patina over time. The colors that will patina more substantially are browns, tans and naturals. If patina is what you are looking for I suggest choosing the shell cordovan, russet or chestnut. The three leathers listed will show the most patina over time and be sure to age great! I hope this helps without the photos. As far as leather care goes, I suggest using a nice leather conditioner or oil. For shell cordovan and all other leathers I use Venetian shoe cream. Horween suggest this cream and I stand by it completely, I also stock and sell Venetian so maybe I am bias, Ha! Mink oil and other creams work great for vegetable tanned leathers as well. I suggest finding a product that works for you and conditioning your products occasionally, but not to much. Thank you, John

$30 is kinda expensive for this wallet, no? I bought one on Mass Drop just a few months ago for $20 shipped. In terms of the wallet itself, this is just "OK." The unfinished leather on the inside makes it harder to get cards in and out easily and you have to quarter fold bills to make them fit inaide. Neither of which makes the wallet easy to use at a checkout.

I have used a lot of minimal wallets including the Faler Brand, EZGO Slim, CNCH, Dollar Wallet, Dash & Dash 3.0, Sushi Wallet, Cleancut Wallet, Slimteq, NOSO and about a dozen other minimal wallets.
The EZGO is the easiest to use so far, followed by the Dash 3.0 Saffiano Leather wallet and then the CNCH.
The two problems with most of the minimal wallets I have used so far is that it is hard to get your cards and cash in and out of them when at a register. I don't want to be fumbling around with my stuff for 2-3 minutes holding up a line, I just want to pay and go. The EZGO is as quick as a normal fat wallet, holds a good amount of stuff and is still very small.

Bought one during the last drop and mine's held up well so far. I keep 8 cards (2 are thinner than credit cards and licenses) and usually about 3 bills in there. Quality appears to be very good. It stretches out a bit with use. Very happy so far for 29.99. Thanks John!

it will take a hell of a beating. I got mine on the first drop. mine has only been mink oiled when it arrived. nothing since, it's pretty dark now, but I drive a truck for a living and unload a lot of tires so it has seen an unusual amount of abuse. HIHI

This is no a typical drop. Faler had to make each individual wallet and it's taking longer than any typical drop. I will suggest not to condemn massdrop yet and keep trying it. I have bought several items and everything has been great. I still think is worth the wait for such an incredible handcrafted wallet. A little more communication would be better and I agree with wild_one

Davidherrera45Not to slam on Faler, but if we go by the dates listed in the drop, he'd have something along the lines of two weeks to produce the wallets of the four that have been taken. Two were probably consumed by waiting for leather delivery, leaving him with either three weeks to produce 240 wallets, or two for 200. I'm pretty sure we got the first estimate, since it was 16 day ago that Faler stated he was producing wallets, so even for this exercise I'm being generous.
Either way, hand-made goods will always take time, and he's probably making more than the 177, simply for warranty purposes as well as probably general stock.

Purchased as part of the April 2014 drop, this is my russet (natural) coloured fold wallet. I have never waxed the wallet or purposefully altered its appearance in any way. Purely natural patina from an everyday user:

The stitching is still flawless, and holds about 10 cards + cash.
