AnthonyDRWell after I posted this it went to "limited to 30", and now it's up to 60... so I guess this is more of a marketing tactic than a reliable indicator for buyers.

I've had a S1 for many years in my service with the armed forces. It's been through absolute hell and back, and is by far the best knife I've ever owned. The originally blackened blade has been worn down to bare metal over the years (The attached picture is four years old).
I visited their store in Boden as well, had it sharpened to factory-new condition and laser-engraved free of charge, so the service you can expect is quite good.
The slight downside is that it get's tedious taking down multiple small trees, as it lacks some mass in the blade. I solved it by carrying a small handaxe with me in my rucksack, but I think an A1 would deal with it easily as well.
All in all an amazing knife, and I highly recommend it.
I think we can agree that a bubble wrap envelope was the wrong choice to ship me a box with a knife inside. The envelope was crushed, the box was crushed, the knife blade was not in the sheath as it is in the cardboard wrap for shipping. The blade fell out of the cardboard and the tip was poking through the bag.
I already filled out a ticket on the "Contact Us" page but I think that people should know how they are shipped.
As a collector I am VERY disappointed. I like to store knives in their boxes when I have them at home.

I am not a fan of the Tupperware sheath. How about a drop on the leather sheath version?
To Massdrop: What's the official word from Fallkniven on whether or not they will honor their 10yr warranty?
On the Warranty page of their site it says:
> > "Each new Fällkniven knife is covered with a ten year warranty. Fällkniven AB warrants to the original owner that Fällkniven knives purchased from authorized dealers will be free from defects in materials and workmanship. Fällkniven AB will without charge, repair or replace at our option, any knife returned for warranty work and found to be defective by us.
The Fällkniven AB warranty only applies to Fällkniven knives purchased from authorized Fällkniven dealers, be careful to save the receipt. Products purchased on the internet through discount websites or through any other unauthorized source are not entitled to our warranty coverage. Grey-imported products are NOT covered by our warranty."
Is there any chance of a left-handed sheath? The right handed and left handed versions are exactly the same price on the Fallkniven website and it would be amazing if something could be done for us lefties instead of having to carry on the non-dominant side all the time.
I am wondering, how is this less than an inch shorter than the A1, but almost half the weight? I got the A1Z in the last drop for that, and I really do enjoy how nice and heavy it is, so I'm not sure if this one would be as fun.
TueraiThe A1 is 11" overall and has a .25" blade thickness while the S1 is 9.7" overall and has a .20" blade thickness. The A1 probably also has a little bit wider blade/tang. That is probably where most of the weight difference comes from. The S1 also has a different material and smaller handle, which might also contribute a little bit.
