I enjoy expressing my opinion freely on the internet. Albeit a touch late. I lost interest quickly but came back for a laugh. After doing some research i found he used a metal work lathe to pump these out. Much like they would a $20 top. Unless he's using some space age material, this would have been a rip off. As its also something i'm familiar with (the metal work side of things), this would have taken maybe 20-30mins for a novice like me to make. But as you rightly mentioned, each to their own.
