Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

glad you got your pair. I am the guy that was also asking about the X2 for gaming, movies and music. So far, how do you feel the jump from the Fidelio X2 to the TH-X00? would love to hear what you think about it, and the bass too.
Can't wait to get my pair :)
Best Regards, IHQ
So I don't actually own a pair of X2, my other daily driver is the HE-400i. The difference is night and day between these two, with this V-Shaped FR. My thumpier music is significantly more fun (Eminem, The Glitch Mob, etc.) when compared against my neutral, deadly-accurate HE-400i.
The X2 are known for the comfort and soundstage, both of which would demolish these THX00 cans. I think these are uncomfortable as shit, with the weight sitting on the center of my middle skull on the band. I'm used to the Support Band from the HE-400i so it was a downgrade with these arc supported headphones (I have similar pain with the Bose QC25). The soundstage is laughably narrow, I truly cannot discern anything with my limited testing in a couple video games thus far. I haven't watched a movie yet, but I've used them for TV and they're pretty good. I haven't had the need for them to shine yet, what with the first couple episodes of Taboo being somewhat reserved, but I know these will shine there. I also haven't tried running them without an AMP (I use the Magni2Uber), but that will be next on my to-do.
I wanted a pair of X2 for the comfort and soundstage, but realizing that I more or less have that in my HE-400i has kept me from buying a 3rd set in 3 months o.o
These cans itch those basehead moments without a doubt! Especially with a little (read: little) EQ bumping in the lower freqs. I'm not sure which can I love more for Pink Floyd's stuff -- which is a great problem to have :) Hope this helped some!
Glad you're enjoying the cans. Seems like those are what I wanted for sure.
