Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

How the Fostex's compare to my other headphones:
Level of bass impact: the thumpy subwoofer feel is there but you need to turn the volume up. the bass guitar sound is clean and defined, not muddy: Bass impact rank: JVC SZ2000 > Fostex TH-x00 > Beyer DT770 > Beats Professional > Audeze LCD2.2 >Beyer DT880 > AKG k7xx
Clarity (staging/vocals/ instrument separation): Amazing staging for a closed back, like the music floats around inside your head. Most closed backs put the sound just in the middle of your head, or just outside your ears. These fill your entire head space, and extend out so you don't hear it stop at the headphone casing. Clarity rank: k7xx > LCD2.2 > DT880 > TH-x00 > DT770 > SZ2000 > Beats
Comfort: Super light, not much padding on the head band, clamping force is tighter than the beyers, earpads on the smaller side and are barely over ear. Not tiring after a day of listening at work, not much listening fatigue. Comfort rank: k7xx > DT880 > DT770 > TH-x00 > Beats > LCD2.2 > SZ2000
Isolation/sound leak: Pretty good isolation, does leak a whisper of sound at high volume levels. Isolation rank: DT770 > SZ2000 > Beats > TH-x00 > dt880 > k7xx > LCD2.2
My DAC/Amps used: ifi micro dsd - I prefer running this amp right now at work due to the bass boost and 3d surround feature that gives it more of an open feel. Tons of power, clean sound, discrete looking.
Benchmark DAC1 - TH-x00 sounded suprer clean and balanced with the DAC1. More than enough juice to get the impact I wanted out of my EDM/hip hop, but then the mids and highs got tiringly lound for my taste. Since I prefer to use a dac/amp to "tune" my bass instead of an EQ, I have leaned towards the ifi over this. For general listening, this dac/amp is amazing.
Fiio e09k/e17 combo - Great bang for the buck. More bass than the ifi and Benchmark, but not as good at staging and clarity.
Fiio e18 - similar to the above combo, a lil less power and less customization. Very plug and play.
