found on post from Will mentioning the differences. http://www.head-fi.org/t/788776/fostex-x-massdrop-th-x00-review/5400#post_12448703 as far as I read into the sound wise purple heart is more V shaped. (I guess not expert on graph reading)
For the wood appearance purpleheart will turn brown with age. (not sure how many years it will stay purple) http://www.wood-database.com/purpleheart/
These wood cups can be bought from Chan in the EUM Teak drop if you need variety.
