Product Description
At 38 millimeters, the Persuasion from Frédérique Constant is on the smaller side of watches. However, look closely and it’s got some seriously big style to offer Read More
unless explicitly stated no, part of the realized savings is that it doesn't have a warranty which has a line item value and cost [as am insurance policy since it is a risk assessment product ]that is figured into the new purchase price when obtained at higher cost via an authorized dealer
some grey market and resellers will offer an asurion or their own in house warranty too, so if that is.important to you , you might go that route instead
To clarify the description, this does not have an in-house movement. The FC-303 movement is a Sellita SW200 with FC's customized rotor. If you want an FC with an in-house movement, look for one with an FC-700 or 900-series movement. We have a few FC/Alpina watches and they make a quality watch for the money.
LapYodaGreat, thank you for the confirmation !
So concretely that means that customizing a rotor gives them the right to rename the movement to their own sauce ? If that's the case shame on FC for making such smokescreen and mirror BS
They could at least have it modified a bit.
Siberian_adventuresTo be fair, most, if not all, Swiss watch companies rename ETA and Sellita movements with their own designation after modifying the rotor and/or finishing the movements a little bit more. And FC has actually been pretty forthcoming in the past about their movement sourcing. They have never claimed that the FC-200 quartz or FC-300 automatic movement series were ever in-house. They even set up model lines specifically designating their in-house movements, which all have "Manufacture" in their names.
While many companies have long withheld the origin of their movements, FC has been one of the more transparent companies out there.
The description is claiming an inhouse movement...
Isn't the 26 jewels just a decorated Sw200 ?
(just like Oris like to hide with it's fancy "calibre 827483684" name for their "Aquis"model line, that is in fact an élabore grade SW200 with incabloc upgraded)
400 bucks for this plain, uninspiring watch. You have to be kidding. That is a lot of bird seed. Guys do you really think wearing this watch is going to help you get into her pants? I am a girl.. I ought to know. Besides, I have a clock that is free...More accurate than NIST...And really big...And I mean big. ...."I'll follow the sun."
BogarteYou do understand that the majority of people who buy watches like this care little about the opinions of women so close minded as yourself? In the same way men don't judge women by the earrings, necklaces, rings they wear but by their personality and how it ties together with their appearance I'm sure smarter women do the same with men.
DoctorDFirst of all. I am not a woman. Technically. I am a hen...Amazona Auropalliata to be specific. That is not an avatar... That is me! You guys can't take a joke... Even from parrot, albeit, I am no ordinary bird...More the rara Avis.
Just out of curiosity, no offense intended, what's the probability of a watch like this failing anytime between 30day mark and 2yr mark? I feel like this kind of product is meant/built to last past its manyfacturere warranty mark. So if it's destined to fail, there's a really good chance that itll do so before 30day mark. Electronics would fail more frequently bc of instability of electric components.
FC watches are very well made. I wouldn't worry. The one at Joma doesn't have the engraving on the face that uses the FC insignia, which is pretty nice. Plus, the founders of FC have told me they have heard people having trouble at Joma. I'd stick with Massdrop. I may join the drop.
andrewlckditto and ditto, I was too late for a silver/black. I hope for a re-drop or something along the same style. I do like the details on this watch.
I'm confused. Description says 20mm lug. Pictures show 22mm strap. Pictures show 240 ticks on chapter ring. Other persuasion pictures of same model number have 300 ticks. What are we actually going to be receiving if we buy? Also, there is no mention of warranty.
SeanifredIt looks to be a modified version / amalgation of two different Persuasion models. There is this model which no longer seems to be available:
http://www.jomashop.com/frederique-mens-watch-fc-303m4p6.html
It has a 20 mm band, 38 mm case, and has 300 ticks around the dial as you mentioned.
And then there's this model:
http://www.jomashop.com/frederique-constant-watch-303nm4p6.html
It sports a 22 mm band, 40 mm case, and only 60 ticks around the dial. This version also has raised numerals which are kind of cooler. It's available for $600 with a 2 year Joma Shop warranty.
The current model on the FC homepage looks to have printed (not raised) numerals, 300 ticks, and a metal bracelet. So... different than all three...
Very nice drop - hopefully it's original warranty.

millermiaotianzhangMassDrop is very frustrating. We have had recent watch drops where there has been extensive discussion in the community about what MD should ALWAYS PROVIDE FOR A WATCH DROP. Warranty details have been the most asked for item. So, here we go again. MD----are you listening?
