The Slim Line from Frédérique Constant is, like its name implies, very slight of build. So much so that you will probably forget it’s even on your wrist. But, with a stainless steel case and sapphire crystal, the watch is by no means fragile—not to mention it’ll look great in many a scenario. The dial is very minimal. Absent of numerals, it has thin markers and no complications save for a date window at 3 o’clock. Adding to the dressy look is the small onion crown.
The Frédérique Constant name comes from the two great grandparents of each of its founders: Frédérique Schreiner and Constant Stas—the latter of which began printing watch dials in 1904. Independent and family owned, this Geneva, Switzerland–based company puts a high emphasis on design, continually evolving to offer the most innovative technical features in its timepieces. Founded in 1988, it’s been exhibiting at the World Watch, Clock, and Jewelry Show since 1995. Each of its watches is assembled by hand, and undergoes a rigorous set of quality control checks before being finished.
