Clean and minimal in design with just enough pockets for convenience, the Friday & River Briarcliff wallet is made for a lifetime of use. It features two card slots and a main pocket that can hold bills of multiple sizes—good news for international travelers. It comes in black English bridle, tan oiled latigo, nubuck, and vegetable-tanned leather in natural and hand-dyed varieties. The hand-dyed Sumie is reminiscent of traditional Japanese ink-and-brush calligraphy, and due to the nature of hand-dyed leather, some color transfer may occur if it gets damp or wet. Each wallet’s natural leather interior will darken and develop a rich patina over time, and this is doubly true for the wallet with a natural leather exterior.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of five wallets. Each wallet is limited to 20 units.
Founded in 2011 by husband-and-wife team Joe Freitag and Yumi Kawamura, Friday & River takes its name from the literal translations of their names: Freitag (German for “Friday”) and Kawamura (Japanese for “river village). Based in San Diego, California, the company fuses traditional western durability with the minimal design ethos of Japan. The result is thoughtfully made, high-quality goods built to last for generations.
