Inspired by the minimal design ethos of Japan, the Friday & River McGraw wallet is made from a single piece of leather and stitched by hand. It features two card slots with room for up to three cards apiece, along with a main pocket that can hold bills of multiple sizes—good news for international travelers. Plus, the McGraw comes in a variety of colors to suit your personal aesthetic, made of vegetable-tanned leather, English bridle leather, oiled nubuck leather, or oiled latigo leather from a leading US tannery. The hand-dyed Earth & Sky recalls the dark brown soil of the Pacific Northwest and the blue sky over Southern California, while the Sumie is reminiscent of traditional Japanese ink-and-brush calligraphy.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of color: Black Bridle, Earth & Sky, Natural, Oiled Brown, Oiled Indigo, Sumie, or Tan. The Earth & Sky and Sumie wallets have been hand-dyed and treated with a protective coating. Due to the nature of hand-dyed leathers, some color transfer may occur if these wallets get damp or wet.
Founded in 2011 by husband-and-wife team Joe Freitag and Yumi Kawamura, Friday & River takes its name from the literal translations of their names: Freitag (German for “Friday”) and Kawamura (Japanese for “river village). Based in San Diego, California, the company fuses traditional western durability with the minimal design ethos of Japan. The result is thoughtfully made, high-quality goods built to last for generations.
