I'm interested in this lens. However the price is thw same as B&H and Adorama. Both stores I'll end up paying sales tax with, but which also give excellent service and which are official Fuji retailers.
If the price comes down with more people joining the drop I may be enticed. But I see nothing to indicate this, or that the lens has any kind of warranty.
This lens is currently available for the same price at Adorama (for US buyers). If you get it there, they throw some free accessories and it will ship faster. And you'll get the full US warranty.
Not a "drop" for US buyers.

The price is the same as buying new from B&H and elsewhere. watch out folks I have yet to see an actual deal on lenses on MD. It makes sense there is a tiny margin on a high dollar precision piece of equipment like this.
PictonThe Kamlan 50mm f/1.1 drop was a decent deal on a good lens. And I've seen some Nikkor drops at good prices. But yeah, the Fujinon lenses never seem to be any cheaper than regular retail prices.
FWIW, I tested this lens a while back and it's just too slow (aperture wise) for anything other than good light condition shooting (unless you want to crack the ISO 1200+ and deal with the noise in post). Huge Fujifilm user, but this isn't one of my favorites.
rdodevIt all depends on the type of shooting you're doing. I've rented this lens twice already for outdoor photography (recent trips to Glacier National Park and Japan) and it's glorious for that. Not only does it have OIS but with a wide angle the aperture of 4.0 doesn't really matter because you can shoot at such a fast shutter speed at 10-24mm. This isn't intended to be a fast indoor low light lens anyway.
neodata686Is this just rephrasing of what I said? Good lighted scenes works great. Not so good for most indoor situations which most of the cases is why you'd want such wide angle.
I have this one and love it (for an XT10), but if I didn't I'd be joining this drop. I'm in Canada so our dollar is weak currently but as far as I can tell, for Americans this would be worth it.
