Complete newb to this world, so be gentle! Is there a relatively inexpensive back-lit board that would work well with these key-caps? I joined Massdrop from the fountain pen/stationary world, but my interest has been piqued by all the diferent keycap sets. This one instantly caught my eye, but I know all sorts of nothing about boards/caps/etc. Anyone have a recommendation for a newbie? TIA!
PliologyDoes Anne Pro have a number pad, or is it just the smaller letters and typical function keys that I've seen? It looks great, but I need a number pad.
limeliteshinesIt doesn't, it's a 60 which means it has 60% of the keys on a full size keyboard. The Pok3r doesn't have numpad either. You could always buy an external numpad too if you really like a certain keyboard that doesn't have one
PliologyIs there one with a number pad that would fit what I'm looking for? Or are they all going to be in the 150+ range? (thank you for being patient with me!)
prinzmetalzI'm currently using the shittiest $20 wireless keyboard from the discount store, so I'm not really sure what I like other than "anything's got to be better than this!" lol Thanks for the suggestion!
limeliteshinesThere are different mx cherry switches availaible - coded by color names. Blue and Brown are the typical and popular switches. Blue and Brown produces the same feel, however, there is a click sound on the blue one when a key is pressed; the brown ones do not produce such sound.
limeliteshinesThere are indeed. I have the midnight galaxy keycap set that I use for my laptop and carry with it a cheap $30 tenkeyless Velocifire keyboard with Outemu brown switches (not cherry mx browns). It's a whitish green LED blacklit which matches the keycaps very nicely even though it doesn't go through them it provides a nice glow. Reddradgon is also another that provides cheaper end mech keyboards some blakclit. I haven't had any problems with my keyboard and I'm very rough with it carrying it around in my backpack with laptop.
I had a Filco Majestouch keyboard with cherry mx reds for years and it was really nice. However for its price I don't notice anything different with my $30 board besides that I'm $90 richer. No need to buy an expensive board, the best kind is always the on-sale kind though :-)
