Purchased this mainly for my 10 year old daughter who loves apple slices. She found it fairly easy to slice cleanly through Fuji and Red Delicious apples, so she seems pretty happy with it.

I have just used this slicer once, so my review may be too low. This slicer is VERY good quality and is *VERY* sharp. I was impressed with the quality when I opened the box.
I initially tried to use it to slice up an apple. It was a small apple, but I was afraid to put too much pressure on it, for fear some of the teeth might break off. Perhaps I should try again.
I did use it for a tomato. It worked extremely well for a large tomato. It does a fantastic job on softer items, and might work well on an apple, if I weren't afraid to push too hard. I just don't want to break teeth off. It is extremely sharp.
