I like the look of this knife. It feels great in my hand and seems well made. I like the chopping style blade. It fits well in my pocket. It definitely gets a lot of looks when it’s open. Certainly not your average looking knifes. I have had no issues with it at all, it’s sharp opens easy and seems well made. I would definitely recommended it. Especially if you like something that’s different than most knives
I chose this knife for specific uses. This is not an all around every day carry knife. It has a clever style blade. This is good for cooking and chopping while camping. I wouldnt bring this on a hiking trip because it isn't an all around knife and would add weight amd space in a pack. The blade is super sharp amd could be used for an old school shave haha. Good knife and light weight.
The knife is pretty big, but has great ergonomics in my XL sized hands. Mine has a small amount of side-to-side blade play, but it doesn't get in the way of operation. Due to the pocket clip being a bit flashy and large it would not make a great EDC unless you need it for work. It is great around the house and is my new box destroyer.
I really like this knife. Has a really nice feel. Good weight, but not too heavy. The micarta has a really neat feel to it. It is super hard when tapped, but when you slide your fingers across it feels kind of fuzzy.
Only thing i may change is that the blade is super shiny. I might scuff it up a bit.
This is my 3rd knife in this design
Still waiting for customer service - defective item.
I was hesitant writing this review as I usually receive impeccable service from Drop and have only positive experiences with Gerber. I have written to Drop and still await their response. Last week I received the order sealed and complete. However upon opening it became immediately apparent there is a manufacturing defect with the item.
Unfortunately the blade is extremely misaligned with the inside of the handles. Although straight when opened (as provided in the packaging), the cutting edge of the blade fouls on the handle, scraping across the inside handle opposite the lock. This is preventing proper opening and closing of the blade, whilst potentially scratching and damaging the cutting edge.
I have tried to resolve by disassembly, however I believe this cannot be done because the screws are thread-locked. Also, disassembly make void any warranty and is unlikely to resolve the extreme alignment.
Please kindly see attached photos and advise on resolution. I have already paid an additional £15 customs charge for this item, so I would not like to incur further charges for replacement and/or returns.
The action is stiff and the blade came very sharp. So sharp I discovered I had cut myself a couple times hours later. It feels well made with a solid frame. It's a bit big to carry in a pocket but is a pretty solid workhorse knife, that didn't cost a lot.
