A "Pro" workstation board with only 1 NIC. :-( It's tempting otherwise.

Does it support intel 7th generation processors? If not this is an outdated board.

I'm so confused fused by the chips set and socket of this thing. Can some one tell my which socket types are compatible?

What are you talking about, dude? The E3-1200 series (http://ark.intel.com/products/series/88047/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1200-v5-Product-Family) are all Skylake and they're all compatible with this mobo.

techwizMy bad, I was thinking E5 and E7. I forgot about the baby Xeons. Thanks for correcting me.
The sad thing is that I just built a bunch of Haswell E3 machines a couple years ago.

I have had bad luck with Gigabyte mobos. The last one that I bought arrived DOA. The replacement was DOA. The replacement for that one was DOA. And the fourth copy of the mobo is DOA. I gave up on Gigabyte. Your mileage may be better.

oldgearheadI've had decent luck with Gigabyte, but for what I use it for (Hackintosh) I was seeing errors that no one else with the same exact mobo was seeing - everyone else had sleep working, power management working, and nothing I could do would get it to work on the GA board.
Windows, it worked fine though for Windows and everything else for my Hackintosh, it's been reliable for the last two years. That said - moving to an ASUS board.

oldgearheadI suspect you have a bad power supply. It is highly unlikely you got that many bad boards in a row. I suspect that either your RAM is bad, or more likely your PSU is shorting out these boards. Try the board at a friend's or at work. In addition, check wattage. I sell PC parts on eBay all the time and people return items because they are using 200W OEM power supplies from Dell that cannot handle a graphics card or any older setup. FYI, I have built dozens of computers, if not more (work and home), and I have never gotten a bad Gigabyte or Asus board. I did get a bad MSI, but it was a really fancy one (usually the high-end stuff seems to have more problems).
