Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. GloveAudio A1 is NOT a "battery pack". It's an outboard DAC and balanced AMP for the AK100 / AK120 players. And because it's built do do one thing well, it excels at being an awesome DAC.
A lot of people purchased these nifty music players from AK only to realize that while the interface is great and the player is quite usable, the DAC and audio circuitry leave a lot to be desired. Now these people have an amazing opportunity to upgrade the sound quality of the player by adding an external DAC, which is housed in a protective case, that also fits the player.
The press is raving about the DAC quality -- it rivals desktops, so yes -- an amazing improvement in SQ, while you get to keep your investment in the player. This combo in some respects sounds even better than the flagship AK240. Compare $449 to the cost of a new AK240 (over $2400) and you immediately see that this makes a lot of sense.
Side note: A1 does have a rechargeable battery, but it's used to power the built-in DAC and Amp. It's not used to power the player.
little rant over
edit: wait at the meets i think vendors all ready bring their high end products like dac and amps ? so what the point you can just bring your good headhphones and just connect it to their products to try out.
