$168.18 with shipping and tax from Amazon and I live just north of NYC. $141.99 here. I'm ok with this bit of a break. Ya gotta take 'em when you can....
The price/MSRP ratio for this drop seems much higher than most other offerings on Massdrop. I found these at a trusted and verified Grado reseller for the same price with free shipping, plus the order will be processed on the first business day after purchase, which means they'll get here faster. I'm sure Massdrop has good reason(s) for the higher than usual cost/MSRP ratio. Can anyone explain what that might be? Is it possible that Massdrop has a surplus of these headphones that were purchased when the MSRP was substantially higher? My curiosity merely stems from an interest in better understanding how Massdrop operates, which is why I waited until the last day of the drop to bring it up.
It's strange, but with over 21$ shipping fee, it would still be much more cheaper than the cheapest pair in my country.

Grado pricing outside the US is always ridiculous compared to other brands. I noticed it when I moved next door to Canada from the US. SR60 pricing was what I would pay for a 225. And for this drop, as noted by some of the comments, it's cheaper elsewhere in the US, but it's a steal for people outside.
Dang it! Looking for SR225e! E: not a bad discount though.
Are those over ear or on ear headphones?

Seriously look into the T50RP MK3. Once you swap out the earpads and poor audio cable they can't be beaten for the price. When I mention the audio cable is of poor quality, it truly is. The connector in mine had a poor soldering thus it began to have loose connection issues hours after use; but with the replacement V-moda cable and upgraded ear-pads; it truly became my favorite headphone.

Thank you for the suggestion. But i also have the m40x and got in the drop for the he350 so im good on headphones for now :)
A 10% drop :)), you gotta love Grado and their marketing strategy.
Awful price, $150 on Amazon free shipping, no tax.
I had the SR-80e and they were the most comfy headphones I have ever used, but they are open backed....so good luck using these while other people are in the room.

Hi all, we extended this through to Monday. We wanted to give it a few extra days since the activity has picked up a bit.
Why is everyone annoyed at the price? To Americans this may not be the best deal, in Europe these Grado's are sold for 220 euro (no joke, SR80 is 150). 160 dollars is a significant discount that makes me a happy massdrop customer.
Grados rarely go on sale; i guess that's why this drop is not as good as some of the other drops. Personally i would be more interested in SR325e
Guys that Grado sound is awfully trebble heavy. I mean ear fatiguing trebble-heavy. I cannot listen to them for over than 30 minutes. If you never had a Grado before, just think twice.
$140 here $150 on amazon. This isn't a good deal. Please stop with these terrible drops.
techfish
MSRP $150. Drop with shipping, $140. Even on here it is a sad deal. At least include some freebie stuff or something.
I would love to buy these since they cost €50 more in the EU at a normal store, my only concern are the import costs. I know if you guys put "sample" on the box, I don't have to pay the import costs, but will you guys do that?
Sincerely, Dylan.
These headphones sound excellent on their own, but a lot of people mod them to improve the bass and sound signature overall.

does it ship to india?
kro9ik
On description, they mention about international shipping. So yeah
how shipping to EU works? When I fill in my country in the shipping options it adds some amount to the cost, but is that all? Buying those headphones in my country would cost me around 230 USD, so even if I get them for normal US price, it's a steal in EU. Thanks!
Brmbrmduc
How much is that amount? It's probably the import costs.
just about the worst deal i've ever seen on massdrop, i'd buy a pair of 225's retail over this drop.
too much wait to save $5 over amazon, nah.
Need 325 dropped
Compaired to AKG Q701/K7xx or x2/27s?
Grado controls pricing like nobody's business, so shop around. I've had my SR125s for about 15 years. I sent them back late last year because one of the drivers was distorting and for around $30, they refurbished them so that they sound like new. They're my favorite cans.
DrewDunn
Yeah, I sent in a pair of SR 60's years back and they returned them with excellent working order. I think they charged me enough for postage and twenty bux or so.
Great headphones, but the ATH M50X'es are better.
HeliumBalloon
Two completely different cans with two totally different sonics. Own sr80e and M50X. Love both. If I had to choose between the two, Grado would win out.
HeliumBalloon
They are not comparable, and to my ears Grado's sound better on the genres i listen to, or even gaming.
Great headphones but that's the same price I can buy them for at my local headphone shop.
How do these compare to the SR80e?
