Product Description
Boasting a UNIX-friendly setup, the 65-key Happy Hacking Keyboard Lite2 is small enough that it travels well but large enough that it offers the functionality required by gamers, professionals, and other heavy users. Designed and manufactured by PFU Systems, this membrane keyboard offers the reliability and tactility of a mechanical board, with the added benefit of properly placed Ctrl and Esc keys Read More

The Professional 2 and the Lite and the lite kinda sucks in comparison.I want to get another OG white color way HHKB professional.

Eh, I have one and use it. I love the UNIX layout, it's one of the few keyboards I can actually type on without leaving home row. Yes it lacks the Topres of the pro but you get arrow keys which I personally want.

This is a really bad drop for this brand, people would be flocking if it was anything other than the lite with Topre switches.

Heh heh heh, agreed. Though I just bought a WASD V2 with Cherry Blue Switches off of WASD the other day for the Galaxy Class Drop set I ordered a few days ago, I'm excited :D

Thank you. That is exactly the problem with this drop. The hhkb lite is too expensive for the dell and logitech crew, it's too plain for the gaming crew, and the mech crew (read us) know better.
Hell a hhkb pro or type-s a week earlier and I would have probably bought a pair myself!

I will be saddened if this doesn't drop and that in turn makes PFU abort any possible future drops of the real HHKB. I think it was a bad choice to start out with the Lite.

sprk1I agree. Hopefully PFU understands that MD is an enthusiasts platform and judge based on how the SE18T0 sold like hotcakes.

Funny how this isnt under the MK option. But its the rubber dome version of the HHKB so it makes sense. Still looks weird though.

I typed on one of these at a Vintage computer fair; someone had it plugged into one of their late 90's/early 00 PC's.
Before then I heard these had a reputation for being crappy. But I was surprised that it was quite nice to type on. Yes the specifications say only 10 million keypresses - but I have some Dell rubberdomes from long ago that still work just fine - contrary to the perpetual myth that those boards wear out after a week. (rolls eyes) [How are you guys enjoying your chattering MX switches btw?]

Cho_Ren_Sha_68KOkay, if you've typed on these type of keyboards before what type of legends are applied upon these key-caps?
If they are dye-subbed I would buy one for sure without hesitation because I love this layout.

Funny side note: This drop is listed in the TECH section and not in the MECHANICAL KEYBOARD section :)

Really, the Lite is a rubber dome.

The lite generally isn't worth it. If you want a HHKB, go with the Pro version. It has a far better build-quality than the lite, and far better keys (lite has rubber, pro has capacitive)
ElectricCoffeeBuild quality is nearly identical between the whole line of them. I'm sitting on a Lite, Lite 2, Original HHKB (with Fujitsu domes), Professional, and Pro 2. The outer casing and overall build quality is nearly identical on the lot, with the Topre domes obviously being what is driving up the price on the Professional variant

Well, I've put my name down for one if enough people go for one; I think it would be a great keyboard to carry around and not worry as much about losing it/people stealing it. I sometimes take my FC660C to uni, but I'm so nervous when I have it because it was such as investment.
If you're on the fence about buying this, just go for it! If this drop isn't successful then it's not going to be a very impressive show of interest for them to consider dropping the professional.
