"Inert objects only"?!!! So what you're saying is, I can't use this to temporarily suspend my toddlers from a tree while I take a nap in my hammock?
Forget that!
I have three of these. They're very handy if you have multiple pieces of luggage you need to string together. These are NOT carabiners! Having said that, they are not flimsy either. Most of the time I use it to hang my purse from a tabletop when out dining, but when I really need them, I'm glad I have them.
JPeeThese also swivel. I use mine mostly for backpacks. Imagine clipping it on your backpack then being able to fasten the hook to branches, rocks, ledges, tailgates...anywhere the hook can grip. The swivel feature allows you to turn the backpack to access different pockets and zippers. It's not a necessary piece of gear, but I have several of these and they never leave my packs. Too handy. I was excited to get this but it's $14.95 at REI for one.
Also, it's unclear what you are actually getting. The same part number at REI says it holds 40 lbs. Looking at the pictures here, one pic says 50lbs, another says 60lbs. So which is the actual item being sold here? 40, 50, 60?
bootlegger22That's for the Heroclip "mini" which is smaller and has a weight limit of 40 lb. This drop is for the medium Heroclip that holds up to 50 lb. and costs $19.95 ea. at REI.
These are really handy but this one I find to be a little too large. Would be nice if sizing was made more apparent (HeroClip doesn’t do a good job at that I think). I ordered a couple from amazon last year and one was this size, I think it’s considered a medium, and I got a smaller one. The smaller one seems perfect for bags where this size is a little more cumbersome in my opinion.
