A complete waste of $34 -- poor sound, poor build quality. Very disappointed.
So I've had these for a few weeks now. They are truly horrible and a waste of money.
This was a total waste of money - such utter crap. I could have more experience by making a rubber-band banjo - it would have saved me time a lot of money and probably would have been more fun. SIGH. Quality and package is meagre. Nothing extra dn sound is as many others have already mentioned very much under the money you pay and expect from a brand like this.
Good news group. We’re glad to report that all of the orders have been shipped out from our warehouse and are now on the way to you. Please allow 24-48 hours for tracking to get into the shipper's system and start updating.
If there’s anything else we can do to make your Massdrop experience better, feel free to contact us via “Contact Support” button in your transaction page: https://www.massdrop.com/transactions
Absolute garbage! 30 dollars? These things sound worse than the 10 dollar panasonic phones from amazon. I really do want a refund because these are not good by any means. Sound is low and unclear. One other reviewer said muffled and that is the best word to describe these.
How do I return these for a refund?
The sound quality is lacking, sounding muffled but isolates sound pretty well. I would not buy these again, not really worth the $30, and definitely not the retail $50. Actually lesser quality IMO than my Jlab J6's I got in a $5 grab bag, which these were supposed to replace. I am sure to be more weary of Massdrop's sales in the future.
I listened to 1 download with these on my iPhone and the online remote broke into 3 pieces , the top and bottom of the remote fell off on the floor , I didn't put it back together and music still plays through them but remote does not work , nice sounding headphones but quality sucks
Received these yesterday and they are JUNK! Sound is terrible, why would Massdrop sell such junk?? Walmart crap...
T-Dogg
sigh... Money wasted
Hm... Got it today. It's pre crappy. I mean the sound quality. Much worse than the TTPOD I bought in some previous drop. Or, o received a faulty one? Music sounds muffling. None of the quality described presence
I like them.
We have some good news to share with everyone. Currently, around 80% of this HiFiMAN drop has been fulfilled. There are a handful of remaining units that we received in a separate shipment this evening. Our warehouse team didn't have enough time to turn these around today, but all orders should be out the door by Monday!
Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 9/18 or sooner if something comes up.
Thanks again for joining this drop! With your help we were able to make it successful for the community. We've just submitted the group's order with the vendor for the HiFiMAN RE300 Earphones and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where we'll break it up into individual orders and ship them directly to you! The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 9/11.
Rest assured that we will provide you all with updated information regarding the status of your order throughout the process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 9/11.
Tried this to get a set of ear-buds for my phone. Not having too high hopes, but I thought it an OK level to try out Massdrop with as well. A bummer that the $ is so pricey compared to SEK right now and that in conjunction with the high price on shipment doesn't make it to quite the bargain you had hoped for.
I would like Massdrop to bring us HiFi He 1000 headphone for us in order to participate in Massdrop, thanks a lot .
damn, if this was the re-400 or re-600s I would be all over it.
I wonder if anyone has tried these with other tips such as Comply or UE600 tips? It may be the tips that warms the sound and make them bassy. Can someone chime in and share some thoughts about tip rolling on RE300?
Wow! HiFiMan, finally!!! Great job, MD!!!
Just wanted to say there's a typo when checking out...

Blech, not a fan of these. Skip them. Save the $30. Or do what one of the other members suggested and pay the extra for the RE-400. The between the two is striking. Even for $30, I can think of much better options. I just remember it's extremely scooped sound that wasn't entertaining at all. While I enjoy most of what HiFiMan has to offer, I honestly think this is their most disappointing product. No wonder it's being offered here for $20 off retail...
I've had these for about 6 months. Boosted in the low end, rolled off top end. Boosts aren't massive but apparent. Warm and non-fatiguing sound. Resolution, detail and clarity are above consumer grade, but not by a lot. Build quality feels and looks like cheap plastic. It's held up so far, but it's far from desirable. The left and right markings on mine are smudged and fading. Fit is nice. Small and forgettable. There are cheaper options for the gym that will suffice. These aren't bad, they just aren't anything special. At the Amazon price of $50 I'd say No. At $30 I feel comfortable recommending them for a carry around pocket pair that you can listen to for hours on the go without fatigue if that is your target. Going to get groceries and want to jam to lessen the monotony? A chill pair that you can fall asleep with? These will do.
Want something for focused or serious listening? Look elsewhere.
I like to make custom molds for earphones like these, but I need a pic with the tips removed. A groove around the stem helps hold onto the mold. These have a nice deep groove. Here's a good one if you were wondering.

These look like a great option if I needed another pair.

would like to see pics of these custom molds. sounds like a cool idea

I used this article, but instead of the Radians kit, I just bought a $20 kit of Easy Mold from my local craft shop. Here in Missouri USA, its sold at Michael's in the cooking section because they make chocolate molds with it. You get enough 2 part silicone putty to make about 50 sets of molds, so you have plenty of material to practice with and make mistakes and adjustments. Its identical to the Radians material, but purple instead of blue. I make a set in 30min and they cure overnight. They last at least a year before they start feeling loose, probably because of changes in my ears. They give you superior comfort and isolation to any factory sleeve and don't fall out if you're hot and sweaty. They don't rely on pressure to fit and hold in your ear canals like the factory sleeves. I started using this because I couldn't find an earphone that would stay in while mountain biking. Enjoy.
Reviews? Otherwise this sounds _very_ biased.
again international shipping 1/3 of the product cost
spend the extra $40 and get the re400
these are pretty craptastical to be honest
hiptobesquare
Would you mind giving a comparison to the RE-400? I'm looking for a lower cost alternative as a recommendation to friends.
NyquistRate
I haven't actually listened to either of them personally so read this with that in mind.
I'm going to have to side with hiptobesquare. Based on the innerfidelity datasheets I would guess that these are going to have heavy sloppy bass and weak highs and an overall dull sound. RE400 should have a nice bright sound and perhaps a little harsh on the highs. See for yourself: http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/HiFiMANIE400.pdf http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/HiFiMANRE300.pdf
HiFiMAN on Massdrop. Can I get a heck yes? I've been talking to their team for a while now, and hopefully this drop is the first of many.
I am rarely so complimentary about a product, but this is hands down the best IEM I've heard at the drop point.
The RE300 does so much right in terms of my preferences - a tasteful bump in the bass that doesn't bleed much into the mids, vocals that sound lush and warm, a soundstage that hits deep. At this price? Danggg.
Because I know it'll come up, we're working directly with the manufacturer so you get the warranty in full just as if you had bought from HiFiMAN directly.
HiFiMAN's being really cool on this promotion, so this might be the only time the RE300 is dropped like this. If you like bassy goodness done right: Run, do not walk, run, to get a pair of these while you still can. They will not disappoint.
While you're at it, let us know what HiFiMAN products you want to see on Massdrop. I've created a poll just for this occasion that I guarantee I'll make them read: https://www.massdrop.com/vote/HiFiMAN-on-Massdrop

Very excited to see HiFiMAN on here as well.
