Done in traditional Japanese style, this Higonokami friction folder features a design that dates back to the late 19th century. Made with a thick san mai white paper steel (Shirogami) blade, it has no lock. To keep the blade secure, simply put your thumb on the tang and it will stay open when cutting. When closed, the blade is fully concealed, making it a subtle carry option on the go. It’s also absent of a pocket clip, but at less than 4 inches long and only a quarter-inch thick, it will slide right into a breast pocket with ease. This brass version will develop a unique patina with time.
