Lighter and easier to carry than traditional bottles, the Hydrapak Stow collapsible bottle is a great alternative for backpacking, running, hiking, or daily commutes. Made of an abrasion-resistant TPU and HDPE blend, the bottle weighs just 1.5 ounces and collapses down to the size of Clif Bar Read More
I can't tell from the pictures, but are these bottles shaped like a pocket flask, in a sense that they look like flattened ovals when viewed from the top? Can you slip them into back pockets?
FeebleOldManOk since it's unlikely that we get an answer from MD or the manufacturer, I went ahead and calculated the "depth" of the bottles assuming they are rectangular blocks:
Depth of Stow 500ml: 500 cm³ ÷ (17.5 cm x 10.2 cm) = 2.8 cm
Depth of Stow 1L: 1000 cm³ ÷ (23 cm x 13 cm) = 3.3 cm
So it's pretty safe to assume that they are flask shaped.
FeebleOldManCareful mate, if Massdrop sees how helpful the members are they'll do away with specs and descriptions all together because they can bank on us doing their work for them.
TortoiseThunderReally? Perhaps you could explain racist/demeaning/ and "today's social media"--I mean from a turtle's point of view, anyway?
And while you're at it, explain that other part where you say: "I prefer to ignore his comments, I pretend Raymond is not here." --or not, that would be okay too.
To answer my previous question. These are absolutely NOT compatible with the Sawyer water filters. It may be the same size opening, but the threads are of a completely different and incompatible spacing. Sucks for me as I
purchased a bunch of these for that purpose (for myself and family).
DO NOT purchase these for use with Sawyer products.
Moral of the story. Trust your gut. Ignore people that quote specs back to you (rather than knowledge) as if that should be the self evident answer to your query.
Looks like I’m all set for white elephant gifts for a while.
dirtherderThanks! I came here hoping someone would have this info. I guess it was too good to be true. Might still pick up a couple for the desert section of the CDT for when I want to carry extra.
dirtherderGlad I read your post! This is exactly what I was interested in them for and HydraPak is missing the boat until they are compatible with Sawyer products! TY
FeebleOldManRight, read that the first time. Should we assume this is standard threading?
I have other types of bottles that have same size screws but different types of threading (making them incompatible).
RayeNVM. I figured it out. For anyone wondering, just click on "join drop". It doesn't automatically commit you and you can see shipping. I'm sure most everyone else already knows this, though. ;)
ColourD3vi1Very true, but fixable. Per their website: fill it with water and the juice from 1 lemon, then freeze. I've done it to mine and it fixed it completely.
Does anyone know how these do in the cold? We like to have a container of water on us while skiing - but have not had much luck with other collapsible bottles.
