I got this drop not too long ago. Main reasons for purchase was me being a SNES fanatic plus this doesn't clash with MY setup. I never thought of taking this "mech" board seriously. All I gotta say is... not bad. They don't call it the Hyper Clack for no reason.
Pros
- It has a consistent click/clack sound and tactile feel to it(some may find it loud). - The Gaote switches are similar to Cherry blues(in a decent generic sort of way). - The Accent light has 3 modes(constant, glow and off). - Back of the board sports 4 legs(2 legs on the left and right)allows for additional height adjustment/reinforcement. - Cable canal in the back allows the usb cable to be routed from the center, left or right of the board. - Win Lock key prevents accidental game interruptions. - Heavier than I expected(makes it FEEL not so cheap) - Box art in SNES style.
Cons
- Even with the drop it's still a little pricey. - Color scheme WILL clash with MOST setups(you already knew that) - Must register @hyperkin.com within 2 weeks of purchase to obtain 1 year warranty!(many reasons why I dread this)

BrannyBecause these kinds of knock-offs won't fly in the mech keys category.

From /r/MK's wiki: "Gaote Switches Note: Outemu is a brand name of Gaote Corp., similar to Kailh being a brand name of Kaihua Electronics."

TheSkeletonthey're not bad - the blue ones from gaote are okay. very okay. they produce in a very consistent quality vs gateron where sometimes switches feel and sound off. they're cheap, but they aren't bad.
TFW massdrop hides bad/ugly/low quality boards in Tech so the people that actually know about mechanical keyboards won't call them out on their shit

KrelbitYea... I'd rather get me a set of the GMK SNES caps. This board is ugly.

It screams plastic, but still somehow appealing to me, but overpriced.
Why do you "hide" this in Tech? Why no closeup to let me see and judge the keycaps better? Why no flipped keycap to judge thickness?
I guess you're getting the point, another bad made description page, i do wish so much a certain standard would be given and met on this behalf!
