SpencerLEveryone should cancel their orders directly through their banks/paypal and get a refund or dispute through them instead of dealing with drop directly. Drop thinks customers are less than smart and is doing whatever they can to not give refund. Let drop deal with banks and paypal. I assume drop cant ignore dispute coming from banks unlike coming from customers. Maybe they'll understand the magnitude of how serious this matter is and how frustrated customers are. But I doubt they will unless they have to cough up lots of dollars. Do cancel it through your bank!

SpencerLMy order finally arrived on August 1st with no updates whatsoever in the tracking since June 28th before it just appeared. Since it actually arrived I have told my bank not to worry about cancellation after all. The customer service during this whole order has been horrible as you can see from my many comments, and I will not be doing business with you again if I can help it. If you want to stay in business your communication with your buyers needs to be reinvented from scratch.

4/21 Update I've read everyone's comments, discussion and concerns with the new revised updated to the ID80 case using plate-mounted stabilizers and the vendor is asking if we would prefer to stick to PCB mount (which I personally believe is better). Please let me know what you guys think and I will go ahead and pass the message along.

SpencerLPCB mount would be the strong preference and, given that it was pretty widely shared that the included stabs are poor, it seems like many folks purchased alternative PCB mount stabs and would have to return those/cancel orders now, including the recent Zeal stabs on here.

SpencerLYes, PCB please, I have already ordered and received durock PCB stabs, I really want PCB.
4/16 Update Thanks for the love for this product guys. Vendor has just informed about an update they have posted on Idobao's website, which you can read here - https://www.idobao.net/blogs/news/improved-id80

SpencerLThis is a downer, I've ordered and received durock pcb stabs, I can't return them now, so what do I do ? Since idobao.net is offering a pcb mounter version for extra 0.20 cents, we should be able to choose it as well, or get some money back.

haesbaertChecked the pinned post. They are sticking with pcb stabs.
6/5 Update: Hey everyone, thank you so much for being patient. I haven't gotten any word from the vendor about shipment, but I checked our internal system and it seems like this is the rough statistics of which units/colors we have received and are in the process of packing and shipping. Please understand we are backed up on processing products across all communities, but our fulfillment staff is working hard to get everything to your doors as safe and fast as possible - Black - 353 ordered, 50% received Silver - 152 ordered, 38% received Grey - 198 ordered, 73% received Blue - 76 ordered, 55% received Purple - 57 ordered, 32% received Gold - 64 ordered, 28% received As it stands, I am not able to address everyones' concern about when their order will ship based on their color choice, as that it outside by scope of knowledge. I do not believe it's based on chronological order of when people ordered. Regarding the June 12th ship date, I believe that is when we will start shipping from the units that we have received (with the remaining ones most likely on their way soon).

4/28 Update: I've heard everyone's voice and concern. The vendor confirmed that the final version shipped to you guys WILL be PCB mount and have the tolerance adjusted so it won't collide with the bottom of the case. Cheers!

I hear ya man, it made a bit more sense with the first batch they did, with the thicker bezels, but with the bezels being so thin and close to the keycaps, the drastic radius of the corners in relation to keycaps looks off.

I love the round! So many damn keebs have hard angles. Its a nice retro vibe to see curvature (IMO).

Just received a cancelled order email as well as others in the comments, I have contacted support. @SpencerL Could we please have some insight? After waiting weeks (months) with nothing then receiving this... *UPDATE* I've received the same reply from support as others in the thread. DROP has taken my money for 4 months, given abysmal updates, cancelled my order and refunded me today, because of exchange rates I'm now at a loss of $30 and a keyboard. Never using DROP again.

Got a question.. Is this going to be the new or old version? The ones in Aliexpress (idobao store) have black PCB and wider top bezel.

The post on Ali doesn't have that picture of the bezel thing anymore. I went ahead and ordered on there. Really wanted the black pcb, and they confirmed it in messages and in the description. Also the customer review pics show the black pcb.

I am usually a very patient person and even now writing this im just trying to be as level headed as possible. i was really disappointed with the way this drop was handled. I knew this hobby required some patience especially in this pandemic but, some things that were done towards the end just really rubbed me the wrong way. Why would you send out an email to users stating that "Their" request to cancel the order was successful? Why use a generic cancellation response that causes so much confusion and only to have me contact support in order to get the real reason. Secondly, this is to your support team if the cancellation was due to issues on your side/ the vendor's side, don't tell me or any customer that has been waiting since march to request for another drop of the same product, rubbing salt in the wound much? I hope my other purchase that is due to ship in November does not go through a shit show like this. Have some respect for your customers, try to keep them up to date. when you said orders will be shipping out on 29th June in the last update email, I am 100% sure that it doesnt take another 2 weeks to know that some orders wont be able to be fulfilled. In that time i could have ordered the board directly from idobao. and now i have to wait another two weeks.

I have no idea which community you're talking about, but it's not the mech community I've been a part of for nearly a decade and a half. There are certainly designers that use RGB in their builds, RAMA is a good example of a designer that implements RGB while maintaining build quality, but the majority of the mid to high-end boards do not include RGB. At all. Full stop. The KeyCult, Fjell/Xlippe/Type X, TGR Jane/Alice, Zeal Zephyr/Xeno, the 7V, Iron165, and the extremely popular FOTM Satisfaction 75 do not come equipped with RGB backlighting or underglow. Outside of accent lighting (like the Xeno's backlit logo), you're not going to find enthusiasts clamoring for boards because of the inclusion of RGB. And considering the most popular keycap sets in the enthusiast market are either ABS or dye-subbed PBT caps, there are rarely keycaps made in this space to support such a build since the legends need to be transparent to support the RGB backlighting. One of the first things enthusiasts talk about when we see new keycap sets are the quality of the legends, and the colorway; something that is nonexistent on a set of caps supporting backlighting since the legends need to be cut from the cap to support that lighting. I have close to three dozen keycap sets sitting on my shelves. Absolutely NONE of them support RGB. Stating that you refuse to buy a board because it doesn't include RGB seems like a very silly argument to make, but I'm not here to judge your particular tastes. Just don't spread inaccurate information to the rest of the community, claiming RGB is a standard when it absolutely is not.

5/12 Update: As the estimated shipping date grows closer, here are some more information - Last update I received around end of April, was that the cases were already well under production, however I will ping the vendor again later today. Please keep in mind that amidst everything that is going on in the world, there are a number of factors that can add to delays (production shortage, shipping speed, fulfillment time, etc). This drop was launched prior to the huge virus outbreak and widespread lockdown, and we've been experiencing various slowdown and complications in shipping costs and speed to our fulfillment warehouses across all communities. I did discuss with the vendor about how we were seeing sales of the ID80 of near 900 while it was live, but he assured me that they already placed an order and starting working on 500 cases ahead of time. To this date, this drop has been one of our biggest and sales far exceeded expectations and estimate. Estimated ship dates are plotted prior to a page going live, and we have seen some other popular items like Dwarf Factory caps, Melgeek stuff needing a slight adjustment due to the sheer amount of requests and purchases. Drop employees are currently working from home during this time, so there may be some difficulties with person-to-person communications we previously had. Additionally, I am currently working on other projects and products, but check in on this page every so often. Please be patient as my inbox is tagged to death across other product pages so it can be somewhat hard to address every person's questions and concerns. I will check in to get a definite answer of where the kits stand at this time, but realistically (and based on other drops across our other communities), it MAY start shipping next week but it might be a little while until they land at your doorsteps. P.S. I really do appreciate everyones comments and concern, and am fortunate that even in the middle of a pandemic, people who spend more time at home keep us afloat with a spike in interest to elevate their WFH or gaming setup :)

SpencerLThanks for the update @SpencerL - we shop here because we know you and your team deliver even if unforeseen circumstances get in the way. I'm sure others will agree that we'll sit tight (what else would we do? haha) and hope for a speedy completion of manufacturing and fulfillment process.

SpencerL"Drop employees are currently working from home during this time, so there may be some difficulties with person-to-person communications we previously had." Good, stay safe guys, as excited as I am for the product, it's just a product. It's not worth any of your folks getting sick over. I know you are doing what you can, and I'll look forward to receiving my products however long it takes from happy, healthy, employees and distributors.
