Great layout, solid build at a great price
Very nice quality, the andonization color was very clean and even. Stabilizers are PCB mounted clip style and are a bit loose but didn't cause any issues, no rattling (I did lube them and applied tape to the PCB). Love the layout. No instructions whatsoever so I had to go to the Idobao discord to learn that to set it in bootloader mode you have to use the button on the underside of the PCB. Push and hold the Reset Button it down while the keyboard is plugged in and QMK toolkit is open in order to put it in bootloader mode for the first time. After the first flash, then plugging in with ESC key held will work in the future. Pictures: https://imgur.com/gallery/rBmtRrD . Programmable like any other QMK keyboard which I appreciate. Note the function key is initially mapped to the key that is in the top row second from the right. This was unexpected and made me think I had a bad PCB when I was testing it. (Please Drop, just a little more information would be appreciated) Edit: OK, after the lubrication settled in, there is some rattling coming from the space bar stabilizer. Will try to clip and see if it helps.

At this price point, the ID80 ticks every box for me.
I actually own two of these boards, one in silver (from Drop) and one in black (from IDOBAO), both kits were identical in terms of contents and packaging. However, in my personal opinion, I much prefer the black colorway over the silver, as it has a cleaner matte finish as opposed to the silver's highly reflective appearance. Assembly was a breeze, all that was required was an alum key (which they provide) and a small philips head screwdriver. Despite the "hollowness" that other users experienced with this board, both of mine did not really have this sound signature, but I still proceeded to insert several layers of neoprene foam between the bottom plate and the PCB for peace of mind. All in all, this is a must-have starting point for those starting their journey into the rabbit hole that is 'custom mechanical keyboards'.

Love it, but the stabs were a pain the you know where
Love this board, it's my first ever aluminum board and I'm pretty happy to say that's for now it's one of my prized possessions. I'm typing my review with it right now and I can gladly say it is a 100% upgrade from my old GK64X. I fitted out my board with Gateron milky yellows which are pretty freaking thocky and a 100% a would recommend pick for this board. It was much easier to put in switches in this keyboard, I'm a expert switch pin bender, yet I didn't bend a single pin which makes me pretty happy that I'll be able to take the switches out whenever I want without worrying about bending and possibly breaking the pins while trying to put it back. But one thing is that the RGB isn't very bright even at full brightness, it gives a decent glow to the Acrylic back plate but not as bright as I would want it. Secondarily the Stabs were pretty much pain, they were lightly factory lubed, but I opted to wipe it off and apply my own since it didn't sound too great, but once I'd put all my switches I found the stabs didn't want to work, and were either stuck or the wire had slipped out and wouldn't let the stab go up and down, which aggravated me since I had to remove every switch in the board unscrew the back, then the PCB from the case just to fix it, and it happened multiple times, and I had to take a break and a hot shower so my head didn't literally explode, but once I'd gotten everything working they sounded amazing, I originally was gonna use Durock V1 screw in stabs but they came too late and I grew impatient and wanted to finish my build but if I were to rebuild this board or get another Id80, 1st on the list is to replace those annoying stabs with Durocks. In the end I'm happy with the result, and I'll add pictures of my board. But at the end of the day would I recommend this board? Heck yeah I would.

One word: quality.
Overall, this is a lightweight, sleek 75% kit. I was impressed by the quality of the case as I pulled it out of the box. Manufacturing in general seems pretty on top of it for the price. Building was simple, and ensuring support of the hotswaps resulted in a perfectly working PCB in the end. There is no documentation, so ensure you understand certain odds and ends of the build process (reset button on the bottom of the PCB for flashing). I’d gripe about the poor Drop, but at the end of the day, I finally have my keyboard and I couldn’t be happier!

Over 2 months late
It was supposed to be here 2 months ago. My last tracking notification came a month ago. People ordered direct from Idobao and got their boards in early May. The V2 looks interesting and so do some of Drop's newer keyboard offerings, but I won't be considering any of them after this GB. At this point I'm just disappointed that I passed on other GB's that have come and gone over the past few months because I thought I was getting this KB. Edit 8/1: It's finally here and it's pretty nice. Everything works and it's great for the money. Would've spent double on a different board if I knew this one would take this long, but it's still nice. Only problems are small imperfections in the finish that you can only see if you're really looking for them. Also I can't speak to the stock stabs, I'm using Zeals. Still won't recommend because I'm pissed at the company, but I won't talk you out of it if you don't care how long it takes. Maybe put it in your will for your kids after you order, just to be safe.

Will update if I ever get my board
Shipping saga is insane with this GB. I'd give a zero if I could at this moment. I'm one of many who's waiting for Cincinnati update without any progress. Poorly conducted business on both drop and idobao I must say. I will update if I ever get my board but it doesn't look likely at the moment. Drop was actively replying to users' comments until the item was sent (after a month delay in the first place) but once the shipment was "sent", they went silent. They dont even bother to comment on people's concerns. What a great way to run a business. Add: Some have received emails saying its lost in transit. Lost they say? Am I to believe that? How do you lose dozens, if not hundreds, of items in shipping? Aren't they sent in bulk for people with Cincinnati tracking? Also, if the shipment is lost because Drop would only pay for the cheapest shipping method, shouldn't they take some responsibilities? At this point I wonder if they even sent my stuff. I'm suspicious that they didn't even make enough products to be sent to all buyers and created false tracking numbers to avoid refunds and etc. Additinally, they cancelled order for some non-US buyers without customers' request, customers were notified weeks AFTER drop sent out a delay email. Drop had to have known they couldnt make enough, so they bought time knowing they will cancel some orders but wouldn't tell customers until they have wasted our time. They only made a few, shipped to west coast people, falsely claimed to have shipped to east coast, and cancelled non-US buyers. After delays after delays, shipping label was 'created' and no comment from Drop whatsoever. If your delivery date (initially MAY) is going to be delayed few months from the initial plan, you should have left the options open to cancel the order from Drop and should have explained why you cant be in touch more frequently with the manufacturer to pin down on shipping etc. Direct order from the Idobao was available in MAY. What's the point of going through this site if we cant even get customer service or quality assurance? I know what Drop will do now is to point to their policy book and avoid responsibilities and addressing this matter. I highly recommend reflecting on how you guys are running the business because you can't even take constructive criticism. At this point, Drop has wasted people's time and money with false advertisement and nonexistent communication. I'm more furious about Drop wasting my time, could have been using the board had I ordered from Idobao directly. Abysmal

Good board, garbage groupbuy
The board itself is good so long as you get it without broken hotswap sockets. This drop however was a nightmare. Delay after delay which was to be expected given the COVID situation but the lack of communication and false hope with confusing tracking updates made for an absolutely awful groupbuy experience.

Abysmal
Almost no official communication or status updates on the board for unacceptable lengths of time just for the package to be lost in transit. The fact that we don’t even have an official statement that these are lost in transit and had to find out from other buyers contacting support really says a lot. Im sure the board is decent for its price but considering I never got it, all I can review is the drop which was absolutely, disgustingly terrible. I’ve had a positive experience with Drop before but after seeing how badly this whole situation was handled, I think I will avoid purchasing things from here in the future.
