First jumpstarter I've seen that lists capacity in mWh. At 37000mWh and 12V it seems this only has just over 3000 mAh? For comparison other jumpstarters and external chargers are easily in the tens of thousands of mAh. While I'm interested in the novelty of having the flashlight shape and function, I think I'll stick with my Suaoki 20000 mAh starter for $10 less and a separate, more portable, higher lumen, flashlight.

There are three cells in this Lithium Polymer style battery (Suaoki Model is Lithium-Ion), which it comes out to around 10,000mAh. Also to add, JumpSmart is ETL listed, so you can be sure this is one of the safest Jump Starters on the market. As for the flashlight, I cannot confirm the Suaoki is brighter than the JumpSmart. How many lumens does the Suaoki model come out to?

To be honest, since I've had the Suaoki I've used it to jump a car 5+ times but never once turned on the flashlight since I have a separate flashlight in my car at all times. I skimmed through the 147 questions and 412 reviews on the Amazon listing but couldn't find anything about lumens, so this may be a feature not too many had thought about until now. Given this drop is specifically designed with the flashlight as a primary feature, I'm guessing it is probably brighter than other jumpers with a different feature focus. Perhaps if this sells well it'll get other jumper manufacturers to pay more attention to this feature, but I wouldn't recommend making your jumper your primary light source during a roadside emergency (besides my flashlight I also have a headlamp and led road flares in my car at all times. And the Auroa keychain flashlight on my keys). Nonetheless I hope this product does well because you can never have too many light sources.
Can anyone verify that they have used this and that it will actually jumpstart a car? Looks like it could be an absolutely fantastic tool in an emergency or a very expensive paperweight..

Very interesting, thank you for sharing. I notice that this data is less than two months old.. I'd be interested to know how these hold up over time.. how being stored long-term in a vehicle at extreme winter/summer temperatures affects performance? $80 is a good chuck of money for something purchased as an emergency tool that's going to crap out on me in a year or two..
18.25 for shipping is way too much
FOR CANADIANS OUTSIDE US -
This dropped to $79.99 USD an additional $17.75 in shipping and handling. I'm not sure why I had to pay an additional COD of $23.71 CAD which at the time of writing is another $18.26 USD.
Main point - if you're outside of US, look for another charger as the charges may be higher.

Yes, but what's a better alternative? I live in Alberta cold spell is when you see all the car that won't start. This is an emergency starter as well as backup power for your cellphone or tablet to keep the kids entertain. I currently carry around a lead acid starter battery and emergency USB power and blanket because you never know arrive at your car after a hike, xc-ski, or even a house visit to realise that you accidentally left your light on. Sometime car battery die unexpectedly. When my wife gave birth, she didn't use her car for close to a month. Sure enough the battery died, likely she was at home. I look at Costco, and their price is about the same as this piece with less feature. It replace emergency starter, USB battery bank, flash light. In a pinch, you might be able to use that flash light for self defence. Costco current sell an emergency road kit for $30 (usually $50) which include a blanket, triangle, yellow vest, first aid. It would make a good combo with this.
