ChicagoWayKeep in mind how many pounds of ice were in these. In last place the Siberian contained the least amount of ice - 27lbs. The Orca in first place contained the most amount of ice at 50lbs, quite a difference and not very scientific. Having more ice is definitely going to give a cooler more of an edge. However, if you plug in this guy's numbers of lbs of ice and the amount of days retained you can calculate their ICE RETENTION. If you must get a color get a light color. Orion sure has something figured out but even more expensive than the YETI, ouch! The dark green color of this K2 had pretty bad ice retention compared to the others, but may do better in grey. Do you want to carry more ice or more food?

masswhole"Do you want to carry more ice or more food?" I honestly don't want anything. I posted that YouTube challenge so that a given person could make up their mind. I noticed in the 2+ years that you have been a member 3 of the 4 comments you have made have sung the praises of Yeti. As you know there are many reasons for why a given ice cooler may have better results for ice retention. The amount of ice, the internal volume, ice ratio, the surface area, the color, and even the external temp will change the relative performance.
Ice retention is not the only criteria for many of us when picking a cooler. The geometry, quality of build, astetics, and cost may be a factor. I wish you luck in your decision if you are still thinking of choosing one and am happyfor you if you have already decided.
Jnw732They should ship well before that, the last two drops shipped before the estimated date and they had even shorter windows between end date and ship date.

If anybody who doesn't bother doing any research before deciding to take a Massdrop of money on a cooler, they should at least buy one that is WHITE. The darker your cooler is the more heat it is going to absorb from the sun. A white cooler will reflect light and absorb less heat. Thats why you don't see YETI selling any of these cutesy colors. Get a "marine" cooler for less than either and be a smarter shopper. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
G3RGRTIC 65's aren't shipping until an estimated date of August 26th. You'd go all summer without an awesome cooler :) Plus they're a good bit heavier than K2's.
