TLSC.wipeOutThere is a review on youtube that compares the Kanto yumi (which are the entry level kanto speakers) to the a5s...and they matched up pretty well.. These are Kanto's top of the line speakers so they blow the a5s out of the water...

TLSC.wipeOutLooking at the specs for the two they are almost identical. The YU5 has the advantage of bluetooth built in though. Same size woofer and the YU5 has a bigger tweeter. At a dropped price of $229 for a pair its the cheapest you will find period for quality wireless speakers.

TLSC.wipeOutI have these an audioengine a2+ id say they are on par in terms of audio quality. The a2+ is a smaller speaker so it's more impressive sonically. Id say the a5+ would be a slightly better speaker but it is of course larger and more expensive and doesn't do aprx Bluetooth built in. Also I think the implementation of the auto off feature is better on the kantos bc they don't make a loud click when they auto power down like the audioengines do. If you're looking for a Bluetooth aptx speaker then this is a good option. It is slightly larger than alot of the other Bluetooth speakers. If you want to spend more is suggest checking out the ruark m1 Bluetooth speaker. But it will coat you about 2-3x the price.

kiwijunglistPersonally, I'd have to strongly disagree with the A2+ being on par with the YU5s in terms of sound quality. To get the A2's sound on the YU5, I would practically have to turn the treble adjustment all the way down and the bass up a bit. The A2+ were just a mess in terms of audio quality when I tried them out briefly. Same room and same positioning as the YU5s yet the A2+ were extremely muddy and were outperformed by a crappy pair of $30 speakers that I had been using before I got the YU5s. Vocals were drowned out; bass was overpowering. Not worth the money at all.
The YU5s, on the other hand, were amazing. Clarity is absolutely amazing. They're really flat sounding initially which can easily be changed by the bass and treble controls. I personally like the treble turned down one notch and bass up one. I find myself taking off my AKG K712s and wanting to listen to the speakers instead. The optical and AUX inputs are awesome for using the speakers on PC and my TV.
I could go on and on about how much I love these speakers. I would be willing to write up a full review if needed and if a few people are on the fence. I bought these on the last drop (for $20 more dangit!) and have enjoyed them every minute in which I've used them. Go for the YU5s. Don't think about the A5+.
