Kanto YURI Down-Firing Ported Subwoofer

Spoke with Kanto support about 2 weeks ago(a few days after my previous post) and was fairly impressed! I included photos of the damage and was asked for a receipt less than 5 minutes after sending my receipt via email I was emailed a return label and told that a replacement would be sent as soon as UPS received the original unit. Fast forward to 5 minutes ago and the replacement has arrived and is immaculate! Can't wait to see how she preforms!

So after a few hectic months of moving into a new place, getting a new position at work, and having my truck stolen I finally got around to unpacking my Yuri sub and I have to say I'm not impressed with Kanto's QC at all. First things first, in the 5 weeks since it arrival it has been sitting in the spare bedroom of my mom's house in a dry climate controlled environment. First thing I noticed when unboxing the sub was the paint chipping at the top rear of the housing and when pulled out of the box the entire bottom portion has considerable water damage resulting in a bloated and warped cabinet. Can definitely say this will weigh in on any future purchases from kanto in the future. As a side note the Yumi powered speakers that I bought at the same time and came in a few weeks earlier are beautiful in looks and sound and also arrived in perfect condition so this is probably not a typical thing from kanto and is just my own bad experience.

Quick question i have the kanto yumis and i was wondering if this is a good pair for them or not or if i should just pick up the sub 6?

TechToxicThe YURI has more output (extension and volume) than the sub6 but won't be quite as "tight" since the sub6 is sealed. Can't really go wrong with either but if you're in a small room and mostly listen to music I'd go sub6. If you're in a medium to large room and are gaming / home theatre then YURI all the way.

So would this be the Sub to add to the MD JBL Glossy Tech speakers I just received?

treeincI'm assuming you're talking about the LSR30X? AFAIK those speakers don't have audio outputs so you'd need to split the signal and sum the R and L before they hit the sub. Not sure if there's an elegant solution aside from using an outboard crossover.

I'm looking for a low powered sub for use with my near-field Micca MB42x desk setup, that might not completely piss-off my neighbors (I have downstairs and side neighbors).
I would place carpet wrapped MDF underneath the sub for isolation/reflection... should that do it?
I'll continue researching this! All opinions welcome.

Complete novice here - Would these work with my Audioengine A5+? Would I have to tune out the bass in the AE or would it sound fine?
