Product Description
Designed to be eye-catching, hard-wearing, and classic like a diamond, this Kaweco Dia2 fountain pen features a gleaming black acrylic body and gold accents. It keeps the distinctive knurling of the original Dia2, first launched in the 1930s, visible on the cap and the end of the barrel Read More
lucylimetimeYou could, but they feel very different. The Kaweco has brass barrel internal parts and feels very solid, not heavy but well weighted if that makes sense.
It is also better finished in my opinion. Hard to understand until you handle both.
In today's big nib oriented market the small nib doesn't work in its favour though. Until you use it when suddenly nib size makes no difference, especially if you use vintage pens often where for the most part bigger is not always best.
jonroMeasured mine at 133mm capped, 125mm uncapped, 159mm posted and 10.8mm diameter at cap threads. The barrel swells slightly to 12.5mm at the widest point, about half way up. Hope that helps.
I won't be joining this as I already have one but just wanted to endorse it - a nice pen. Uses the same nib as the Sport pens so no problem to change nibs in the future.
Kaweco sell a convertor which is 6mm shorter than the Schmidt K5 but I just tried the latter in my pen and it fits/ barrel screws back on fine.

Well, the description says it fits short and long standard cartridges. In my experience, any pen that accepts a long cartridge will accommodate a standard converter. Although, as far as I know, there isn't a standard length for standard converters--some are longer or shorter than others. You might need to experiment once or twice with the pen to find one that fits.
