I’m new to ‘nice’ pens. Could someone recommend a decent ‘first’ piece? Maybe in the $30-60 range... thanks in advance.

I like fine point nibs. I write on smaller note pads regularly. Also some inks seem to write more medium or broad in my Lamy while the original cartridge writes fine lines. I would recommend fine nib to start. You’ll have a better idea on your next pen if you want broader or even an extra fine possibly. Nib size is more of a personal preference so hard to say.

Thanks again. I appreciate your recommendation. I’ll start with the Fine.
I picked this up last time around at $99 (this is with shipping) with a Fine nib and I don't regret the order. Note that, as is common with fountain pens, this comes with blue ink.
This gets so old: calling out MD for yet another nonexistent “deal.”
Only $109.99 for a $140 pen - really!?
Then why is it available at JetPens for $112.75, with free shipping? And available at Amazon for $101.18, with free shipping? See links below.
And, of course, with either JetPens or Amazon you get your order immediately, without waiting for the delays of the MD reshipping process.
The Supra is a nice pocket pen, but MD needs to do better research before deciding what products they can actually sell at a meaningful, and genuine, discount.
MD needs to stop insulting the intelligence of its own members/customers by claiming their prices are “deals,” when just a few moments of research will demonstrate that such a claim is neither accurate nor honest.
Amazon $101.18 - free shipping https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01DTQ7VG2/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521428890&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=kaweco+supra+brass&dpPl=1&dpID=41ox23Dha6L&ref=plSrch JetPens $112.75 - free shipping https://www.jetpens.com/Kaweco-Supra-Fountain-Pen-Eco-Brass-Fine-Nib/pd/16678?gclid=CjwKCAjwnLjVBRAdEiwAKSGPI8tm5nCShCkaq3PyFKGCjnGqG539G4bzu9yVgIvdZrPMXOyYW5qjTxoCWS8QAvD_BwE

I. too call MD on lousy deals. However, I am not sure when you posted this 8 weeks ago if the $109.99 was the only drop price; now there is a final price of $99.99. The links you included still works, which allows me to point out a few things: - The Amazon link only offers a medium nib. Other nib sizes are about $10 more. - JetPens does not offer BB size.
So with the final drop price and choice of nibs, MD is making good this time around, even though the savings are not that great but still significant, especially if you order anything other than a medium.
Why is there not a converter option? Any reccomendations on where to find one for this if I got in?
AceofSpikes
For the appropriate converter, try Kaweco or JetPens.
It is likely that if you don't live in NA this will be cheaper from the European stores. Got mine a while back from La Couronne du Comte for roughly 30AUD less than what massdrop was offering at the time.
If only the copper was sold instead
I bought this pen last time they offered it, and it is one of the BEST MD purchases I have ever made. The pen is gorgeous, and if you like heavy, beautiful, smooth writing brass pens, this is for you - especially at this price. The Kaweco nibs are very smooth and the patina on this is beautiful.
I need to know if the nib is compatible between regular liliput fountain pens and the SupraLiliput. Thx

Thanks!

No i don't belive it is. From memory, liliput uses size 5 and supra uses size 6. It should say on the kaweco website.

The group's bulk order arrived earlier to our warehouse in New Jersey and many of the individual packages have already shipped back out. However, upon taking inventory of everything received, our team was made aware of a backorder affecting a small handful of units. Rest assured, we've reached back out to the vendor to resolve this hiccup and expect to have the remaining units in our warehouse shortly.

Does anyone know if this pen can use a standard converter?? Thanks
Concordpens
Only while using the extension, I believe. Without it, like the Liliput, there isn't enough room.
Does anyone know if the nib on this is different from the regular liliput? It seems longer here.
dedalian
It is different from the regular liliput. The Supra uses a #6 nib.

Thanks for the review and the photos.
sorry... I do not get the point to this fountain pen fork. I do own a regular Liliput Brass Fountain Pen and I love it (I have it with me right now), and I love the smooth brass shape... but this one with two non-smooth levels?
DanielFerrer
It's a "convertible". Convertibles, cars or other, always have to sacrifice some form for function. I personally never wished that my Ohto Rook was longer and fatter, or that my Delta Stantuffo was shrinkable. But I still see the appeal of the Supra. Afterall, we can't claim, while keeping a straight face, that there is such a thing as too many fountain pens, can we?
DanielFerrer
It has an extension tube, which when removed makes the pen more a similar length to the liliput (but still a slightly larger diameter).
