Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Sculpted-profile The majority of custom keycap sets are sculpted-profile (Cherry, SA, MT3, KAT, etc. - more on profiles generally here) so let’s start there. Because each row has a unique keycap shape, alt layouts require a unique keycap for each legend that moves off its QWERTY row. Edit: jantari, your comment hasn't been there for me till a few seconds ago, even though posted a couple of minutes ago.
You've written "-Does it have any DIP switches? —> Yass" - So what do they do optionwise?
reporting back: the dips are a lie. There was just a hole in the case to some pin looking things, but when I opened it up there were no switches to be flipped. sorry about that. I'll amend the original question/answers.
Since there's no reviews on this thing and very little info about it i have to ask if the Keycaps on this thing is changeable? Can I buy whatever kind of keycaps which fits with Cherry MX switches? I need a nordic layout that's why.
I really like the keyboard because it has everything i want:
- TKL - White LED - Cherry MX Blue
I'm consered about the price if the quality is crappy or something and I really want to change those keycaps.
You can change the keycaps with any ketcapset that is given/made for cherry mx switches. The only problem is to watch out for compatability to get a set, single caps (maybe alphas only) with correct sizes. The possibilities for backlit/shine through keycaps are very limited, that shift keycapsizes!
Let me know if you need more help, but it will take some time to answer.
please check the label of the right shift key in manuals picture. It says "Shit". Hope this will be not delivered, but on the other side would be nice experiment to see reaction of my colleagues at work: "What, you have a 'Shit" key?! Can you hit the Shit key for me please, just to see what will happen?" :-)
or if this keyboard is going to get famous and I'm the only one with a Shit key, I'll get famous too and rich at once :-) "Hey he is the guy with the Shit key!"
hope u laugh at least as much as I do at the moment.
